Mcbaseball NCAA Football Season thread
RLM in play early on this one with 60% on Ball State and line dropping from 17 to 16
-Ball State lost most of their offensive line with 3 guys going to the pros and also have a new QB at the helm
-NTexas returns their entire offensive line
-Both teams have solid running backs with Lewis for Ball State being one of the best in the country last season. How big of an impact the o-line was is still to be determined.
I think Ball State will win. But I don't see them having the talent to blow N Texas out

Baylor travels to Wake Forest
-Last year Baylor lost at home to Wake last season 41-13
-Baylor has the edge at RB Finley rushed for 865 yards and seven touchdowns in 2008 to lead the Bears but lost two o-linemen to the NFL
-Wake has the edge at QB Riley Skinner, started 37 career games for the Demon Deacons and has a career completion percentage of 67.3. Last year, he hitting 27 of 36 passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns.
Giving the home field edge to Wake with a solid veteran QB

-Nevada comes in with the worst ranked passing defense in 2008
-Nevada has to travel cross country to a very hostile environment
-I give the advantage to Nevada at QB with Kaepernick, but he has to throw against a Notre Dame defense that returns 7 starters
-Notre Dame returns 10 offensive starters with WR Golden Tate looking to put up all American numbers and a reliable TE in SO Rudolph
Turnovers will be the key to this cover. Kaepernick should feel the heat which I believe leads to a Notre Dame cover

-Tulsa only has 5 guys back from the incredible offense that scored 47.2 points last college football season
-They have to find a QB to replace David Johnson, who threw 47 touchdown passes last year en route to leading this offense to the No. 1 national ranking in total offense at 569.9 yards/game.
-Tulsa returns 8 defensive starters who look to limit Anderson and Tulane's running attack
Key to the game is going to be controlling time of possession battle. Tulane is not talented enough to win in a high scoring game. With a healthy Anderson for Tulane, look for them to keep it close and the scoring down.

-Picked both of these teams to prevail last week and was impressed with both teams' performances
-Claussen has matured so much over his last few outings and looks so much more comfortable in the pocket. The only question is how much was due to his weak opponents.
-Michigan will rely on Freshman QB Forcier to manage the game and avoid turnovers which plagued the team last season

Colorado was held in check offensively because of an interstate rivalry. Those teams know each other in and out. Now Colorado is playing Toledo, a team that loves to go up and down the field. Hawkins will have much more time to throw this week. Toledo is always going to score points and Colorado will put up there's this week as well. I expect a huge scoring affair.

Tried to get in at 55 but it dropped when I went to confirm
Expect a low scoring game.
-Miami is not going to put up as many points as they did late in the game against Florida State
-GT is going to rely on a ground game that should eat up a lot of the clock.
-Most of GT's scores came on big plays and were mostly held in check during the 2nd half against Clemson.
-Miami having a long week to prepare for the option, I expect them to keep this one close.
Waiting to see if spread drops to -3.5 before I place a bet on Miami, but see Miami winning in a low scoring affair..will update if add the Miami bet

My softball team finished 3rd in the tourney. We lost the first game and then went on to win 7 straight before losing in the finals of the losers bracket. 9 games in one day and my body is beat up, it hurts to do anything! We still managed to hit up Nashville's Coyote Ugly Bar for a couple hours before they closed. Good times and lots of yeager bombs to catch up for the full day of not drinking.

Week 4 plays
Midd Tenn St @ N. Texas
-Dasher has been running (176 yrds 1 td) and throwing (759 yrds 5 tds) well for MT St in his Junior season..he must eliminate some of the Interceptions, 5 so far
-Coming off a road win at Maryland where they made many mistakes and still
walked away with a victory against an ACC team
-Beat Memphis
-Competed with Clemson in the opener
-N Texas coming off a thrashing at Alabama where an SEC opponent has banged them up
-N. Texas struggled to put up points against Ball State in opener and against strong Alabama defense
-R. Dodge playing in his first conference game
Midd Tenn State will have to shut down Cam Montgomery to win this one. N. Texas will not be able to keep up with them in a shootout.
