Default The total package

In my quest to isolate a few attractive over/under plays on this week's college football card, please consider the following:

BOISE ST./OREGON - UNDER 65

Oregon looks to exact revenge from last year's loss, but the Broncos are known to dominate on the 'smurf turf'. The Ducks will win the rushing battle but are breaking in four new players on the offensive line so they will probably not hit on all cylinders. Look for Boise St. to air it out. Still, the number is too high. Broncos, 31-28.

CALIFORNIA/MARYLAND - OVER 50-

The Bears are eager to make a big statement here, particularly considering they're playing for revenge. RB Jahvid Best is as good as any in the land. Look for him to run roughshod over a Terp's defense returning only 3 starters. They'll build a quick lead and it will force Maryland to go to the air, stopping the clock and leading to TDs or INTs, either way adding to the total. The Bears are gonna put a hurtin' on 'em, 45-15.

TENNESSEE/W. KENTUCKY - OVER 44-

Lane Kiffin appears to be in for a long season, but he doesn't have to worry about this game. It's little more than a scrimmage, as the Hilltoppers scare no one. Eager to please their rabid fan base, the Vols will score early and often. And don't look for Kiffin to take his foot off the pedal. Vols, 45-7.

RUTGERS/CINCINNATI - OVER 48-

The Scarlet Knights hope to pick up right where they left off last year, playing high-octane football. The Bearcats meanwhile return only one player from last year's defense. That ain't good. Rutgers will dominate the rushing game, and both teams should be able to move the ball in the air. Rutgers, 35-21.

As always, best of luck!
