You're the man C-Bait, good lookin card. I even like the under play on Tulsa/Tulane - even though I don't play totals. Tulane sucks and a new face at QB for Tulsa, seems like a safe bet and 64.5 is a big number.

    4-0 with these bad boys!

    Minnesota -6.5 1 unit
    Illinois -6.5 1 unit
    Ohio +4 1 unit
    Louisiana Tech +13.5 2 units

I'm with ya on Oregon, Navy, Minny, and Ohio. I actually think the Ohio game is the "play of the week"

Riggs, thanks man, always good to see you in my threads...if I go 4-0 with those I will be a happy gambler...Tulsa playing the waiting game on their QB choice must be strategic-we'll see how it plays out-totally agree though. I don't play a lot of totals either-hope it cashes.

Hova, glad we are on those together. Really like the Ohio play...if it weren't week one I'd have more on it. GL this week...

Agreed. Here's my take on the Ohio game. All of Ohio's Skilled players are back from a year ago. They have plenty of experienced players on both sides of the ball and dual threat senior options at the QB position in Jackson and Scott. Price and Brazill are pretty solid at the wideout spots, and RB Chris Garrett has a sh**load of potential. Keep this in mind as well, this is virtually the same Ohio team that lost three games by less than 4 points last year, not to mention the fact that they lost 14-26 @ Ohio St. and 8-16 @ Northwestern. That's an average of only 10 points, and that's 10 points on the road vs. huge schools with superior talent, year in and year out. Connecticut is not a team that travels well and we all know these guys are taking a step back this year without Brown, their entire offense last year. 3 out of their 5 loses were on the road last year. Some of their away games last year includeed: OT @ Temple 12-9 W, 26-21 W @ sh***y Louisville, 12-38 L @ NC, 10-12 L @ Rutgers, and 13-17 L @ SF.

Thanks Z and Smails, hope you guys have a great week...good analysis on the Ohio game Riggs...saw you took Toledo too...by the time I made my picks the number had been crushed, I was thinking of making them a play early on.

Thanks for the Ohio post. They are a good play this week, the wrong team seems to be favored.

Thanks Sooner, hope to get it started tonight with the under in the early game and the Ducks getting points...BOL to you as well

bypp, I hope you're right. Navy was one of the ones that jumped off the page early on. I really like the way they can stretch a game out with their option. Navy is one team when getting double digits that can make you look real smart...hope it pays off.

2-1 so far this short season with another under last night coming through. Tulsa really impressed me in that game. If they begin to execute a little better, with an improved defense, they could be a team to watch...

Anyway, adding to the card for Sunday. GL everyone!

Ugh...no doubt. At least the plays were small. Still, those losses all in a row yesterday hurt the confidence a little...I blamed it on my avatar change, so I went ahead and changed it back from Paulus fondling the referee to Stifler's Mom again. I hope she brings me some luck tonight.

3-7 for minus 8 units. Easily the worst week of sports betting I've ever had. I plan on turning it around next week. Quite the suckfest this week.

    Iowa St. +7 (placed 9/7)

    (2 units)
    Purdue +12.5
    Notre Dame -3
    Tulsa -17
    (2 units)
    USC -6.5

Everything 1 unit except ECU, Buffalo, and Tulsa which are 2 unit plays. Plan on making money this week...hopefully the gambling Gods allow it. GL everyone!

Pitt only won 27-16 on its home field last year. Plus, Buffalo played pretty well last week in their outright upset win over UTEP. I always love home dogs, and if you're going to give me double digits with a quality Bulls team, I'll usually take it. Also the Wanny factor. I just don't care for him much as a coach...GL this week MSU!

  24. #24

    Default Makes sense,

Makes sense, Coug. I don't know a ton about Gill's squad but hard to turn down a double-digit home dog if you think it's a quality football team.

I would equate the "Wanny factor" to the "Ron Zook factor."

Sup Cougar, obviously since it's already posted I totally agree with the Buffalo play.
Originally I was gonna make Navy a play today for my fith and final game of the week but fortunately I watch the Auburn/LA Tech replay lastnight on ESPNU. I think LA Tech is much "gamier" than the score in that game indicated and even though Navy was very impressive last week against Ohio St and have the potential to hang a good number this week I think LA Tech can stay in this game.
Goodluck this week on your card.

    MSU,

You're absolutely right about the relationship between Wanny and Zook. They could be long-lost brothers, or worse yet, lovers...sorry...kinda bad visual there. Anyway, Gill is a far better coach who had a good run last year and I expect the squad to be up for this game at home as a double-digit dog following the nice road win last week...no respect factor working here.

    Wal,

Glad we're on those games together. Navy also popped out to me, but after Pags posted it as a play I took a deeper look at this game. La Tech has Nicholls State and Hawaii coming up at home after this game, so this is a crucial game for them to win. I think, at the very least they keep it within the 7.5

A couple notes on some of the other games:

Purdue: This game is a different beast without Blount. Last season, in West Lafayette, Blount rushed for 131 yards and the winning TD from three yards out in the second overtime. This was a game in which Oregon trailed throughout, only to steal it at the very end. I know for a fact it was a bitter loss early in the year for Purdue. With Blount out, the Ducks will rely on 2 redshirt freshman, Kenjon Barner and LaMichael James. They are talented, but not seasoned, to say the least. Also gone from last season are all-conference secondary players Jairus Byrd and Patrick Chung. I believe you saw their absence in last weeks pathetic showing vs. Boise. Watch for junior receiver Keith Smith for Purdue. He has started 2009 right where he expected to, leading the team in receptions. His eight receptions and 117 receiving yards were team highs in the opening day win over Toledo. What's even more amazing is the fact that Smith's eight catches accounted for 47 percent of Joey Elliott's 17 completions. Smith's big day is his second consecutive for the Boilers. In the final game of 2008, against Indiana, Smith caught 12 passes for 135 yards and a TD.

ECU: ECU won 24-3 in Greenville last year. Also, FCS member Liberty had 299 yards of offense in a 33-20 loss to the Mountaineers last week IN MORGANTOWN.

3-6 this week...Tulsa and Purdue coming in late really helped. Betting on USC and Notre Dame did not. Don't even bring up Buffalo...anyway, a bit frustrated, but I'm going back to work on it and feel we should have a better feel for these teams as the season progresses.

Thanks Pags...I've been watching it all week. I think that's as good as it will get. Unless the public just hasn't been watching Tulsa this year...I've seen all 3 games and they are very impressive. GL to you as well, can't wait for the write-ups.
