Default Okla St -6 vs. UGA

Want to get some thoughts on this game. UGA isn't getting much love here. I thought Oklahoma State would be favored, but didn't think it would be close to a touchdown. The media has hammered the loss of Stafford and Moreno and Oklahoma State's offense so much that Georgia isn't the "sexy pick" to the public that OSU is. Georgia is going to have a great offensive line and front 7...even with their best pass rusher suspended. This has always been a good road team...Oklahoma State may win, but I think 6 is too much.

I have what some have been calling an "over-optimistic" view of Georgia and this game, but I still like 'em so far.

OSU's d line is pathetic. I see Georgia running all over them, also OSU's qb Zac Robinson has a pulled hamstring and hasn't been practicing much this week. If he's not 100% that could be a huge factor in this game.

UGA wins in a runaway... OSU doesn't have the same talent that UGA has. UGA is actually a better team without the "me first", Stafford and Moreno. Those guys only cared about stats and were disruptive to the team. UGA is under the radar and is feeling very disrespected.

    BTW - I've already hammered UGA +5.5

OSU is calling this the biggest non conference game in school history. They will be pumped up, but I think reality will set in after the first quarter. Also the game isn't going to be a sellout. So I don't think the crowd will be a factor either.

I think that is going to be a real key to Georgia's success this season. There is already a lot more team unity than there seemed to be last season. This is always a good thing.

I've been hearing a lot of good things in their practice. Their running game is going to be a beast. OKie States defense may be the best in the Big12 but that's not saying much right now.

Caleb King has been hurt and may not be the starter now. Richard Samuel carried the ball 5 times in a scrimmage for 108 yards...but had one of his signature fumbles.

wow tough game but I like Georgia, Big 12 was a little exposed last year IMO

Samuels may not give the starting job back... He's the fastest RB on the team and at 6"2", 220 LBs he's powerful and can get to the end zone from anywhere on the field. He does need some stickem on his hands but it's probably correctable. Don't sleep on Carlton Thomas as well. UGA has plenty of talent at the skilled positions. CK is only out like 7 - 10 days with a hamstring injury. Not a serious blow and it will have zero effect on the OSU outcome.

BTW - Zac Robinson's upper leg has been seen wrapped up. He has a hamstring injury as well. If he goes down OSU's season is history. He's the one guy they can't afford to lose.

isnt he supposed to be sort of mobile?

  17. #17

He ran for over 800 yards in 2007 (Him and Tebow the only QB's that rushed for that much). In 2008 he had over 550 yards rushing so he is very mobile. The paper reported an injury under the knee that has kept him out for 5 straight days but I just heard about a hamstring as well but nothing confirmed in the papers. OSU hasn't identified a 2nd string qb yet.

Maybe I'm wrong... but I think Okie St. rolls pretty big at home, two touchdowns at least

What are your reasonings behind this? UGA OOC is pretty much money in the bank. OSU's Hunter is very similar to Javon Ringer at MSU and UGA shut him down. I also think they will contain Zac and D up Dez Bryant. The CB's go up against AJ Green in practice who is a very similar WR to Bryant. 8 in the box, bump and run and Zac will be on his back most of the game.

Robinson does have a hamstring injury. He confirmed it to a local sports radio host and I know people who have been to their practice's and they said the same thing.

I see Georgia winning this game. I believe OSU is way overrated. They don't have the defense to hang with a top sec team.

I don't think so either, Sooner, and I hope we are right. I think Georgia will use Oklahoma State's weakness at defense to control the clock in this game and keep Oklahoma State's offense off the field as much as possible.

Hell, OSU being hyped as a team capable of beating a top tier SEC team is a "kiss of death" in itself . . . . .
