K-State might win outright @ Oklahoma this weekend

K-State +14 at Oklahoma is good value. Waiting to see which way the line goes before I jump onboard. And I'm willing to bet a small amount on K-State ml. We don't know much about Okla this year. They've played scrubs so far. However, we do know K-State is a tough team, stay in every game, disciplined. Count on K-State to show up for this game.

hasn't kstate been really dominant at home? not so good on the road? or is that way in the past?

It's didn't really matter last year where they played. That's the team I'm betting on showing up against Okl.

I think people will be surprised of how much Oklahoma dominates this game. This is their first game that they have actually been looking forward to. Expect them to be fired up. Not only that but Oklahoma is pretty much unbeatable at Home with Stoops. They will be on their best game.

No it didn't matter last year because Oklahoma kicked their ass in Manhattan 56-17. Basically the same two teams.

You're taking a K-State team that lost at home by 41 to OU last year on the ML in Norman? GL.

OU off a bye week should be pumpe and ready to play.

Waiting to see line movement, but leaning towards taking the points.

Sooners are 78-3 at home under Stoops. Only two losses in Big 12 play were in 2011 (Texas Tech) and 2001 (Okla St).

An upset is possible, but not likely. Taking the points seems like a no-brainer, which probably means Wildcats lose by 20...

Not making excuses for the Cats but after a last second field goal by OU, the score was 23-17 at halftime. Also, the OU game last year was the only game all year that KState lost by more than 14, even with being underdogs in 9 games. Not sure if I'll take the points or stay away, but definitely not taking OU -14

What does that matter? K-State was still losing at home at halftime and last I checked, a game is four quarters.

I wouldn't argue taking the points but you're acting like K-State has great chance to win.

Hahahahaha so saying I'm not sure if I'll take the points or stay away means I'm saying KState has a great chance to win? You're completely right, I'm not sure I'll take them +14 but boy, that ML looks great! Haha

Man, I'm glad Bill ignored all the naysayers back in 1989 saying that it was impossible to win in Manhattan. I'm glad Terence Newman didn't believe the people who didn't believe in him. I'm glad Darren Sproles didn't care that people thought he was too small to ever be a big time running back. I'm extremely happy that the 2003 team wasn't afraid of playing "the greatest team ever" as 2 TD underdogs.

Rules are meant to be broken and history is here to be rewritten... WHO CARES that Bob Stoops has never lost to a ranked team at home..... He has never beaten this KSU team, lead by Collin Klein the Arthur Brown, in Norman. That's the stat I'm looking at. I guarantee you the team believes they will win and we all need to get behind them. The Big 12 title (and therefore the National Title) runs through Norman and this is our chance to make a giant statement. I'll be there and I believe we can win this game! Go State!
Homer view! I'll admit at least.

My bad. I posted that on my iphone and had you confused with the OP.

    I don't think +14 is a horrible play. I think K-State ML is.

Bob Stoops beat Collin Klein, Arthur Brown, and K-State by 41 points on the their homefield last year.

Can anything happen? Absolutely. Is it smart to "not care" about what has consistently happened the past 12 years? Absolutely not.

You would be an idiot not realize that OU has not lost to a ranked team at home in 12 years and most games involving a ranked team have been absolute blowouts.

You would also be an idiot if you didn't know what OU's record was at home coming off a bye week in this situation.

Alot of people going to take K-State and the points. Hoping they drive the line down a bit and then I will take OU. Think there going to thump them in this game.

  18. #18

I personally don't think there is that much of a difference in the two teams. Yes, OU won last year at KSU. But KSU did finish a game better then OU in league play and they played the same teams.
One thing most don't know or remember is KSU was in the game last year till Frank Alexander stepped on Klien on purpose after a sack. He was taken to the dressing room after the play. He did finish the game, but in major pain. He did not practice the next week before facing Oklahoma St. with a huge "pillow" strapped to his chest.

Oklahoma has only lost 3 games at home in like 11 years , Oklahoma isnt going to lose this game but should be closer than the spread but Im leaving it alone

  20. #20

And remember that all those games vs a ranked Texas team were never played at home. Maybe someone could look it up, but how many ranked Leage teams did stoops win at home? I know that KSU lost in Norman by 1 when they were ranked last and went to Norman.
For anyone to say OU will not lose at home is just absolutely stupid. They lost to unranked Texas Tech just last year.

I am not sure the ML is the way to go on this game (I would like to think so since I am a huge K-State fan) but there is one thing that I know 56-17 is 39 not 41. I will be taking the points.

  22. #22

Bumping this for all the handicapping geniuses that said KState had no chance!

  23. #23

Been looking for this thread since they won last night. Didn't have the balls to go ML myself, Great hit on this one nobody expected a Kstate victory.
