    Default Lout's Bowl Game Plays

A few people have asked me to post my bowl game plays, so here they are. Keep in mind that bowl week is very difficult to cap, and is very similar to NFL playoffs week.. everyone plays their hearts out in these games. With that said, I will find some plays with good value. All plays are for 1 unit, not my normal 5 units.

    Boston College -3

BC has won 8 straight bowl games, and 12 of its' last 14. Vandy has won only 1 bowl game in their history.. this is free money. If you want to make it a sure thing then bet ML on BC, but I honestly don't think you will need it. This line is way off.

I agree. This should be easy. The only problem I could possibly see here is if after coming close to the Orange Bowl, will BC be ready to play?Vandy on the other hand will be as this is their first bowl appearance in some time.As long as BC wants to play in this game,it should be easy though. These are the factors that make the bowl games so tough as you have stated.GL LOUT!!!!

Thanks guru. I did take into account that it is being played in Nashville. But, when it comes right down to it.. Vandy's offense has looked horrible this year and BC's defense looks unbeatable at times. I am taking my chance that BC shows up to play because of their 12/14 winning bowl record.

    Texas -9.5

Texas was 1 play away from playing in the national championship game. They are going to come out in this game with a chip on their shoulder and show the nation and polls that they got it wrong. Look for a route by Texas.

This will be one of the biggest blowouts of the bowl season!

    LSU +4

Les Miles is 3-0 in bowl games while at LSU. Miles will have more than enough time to devise a way to defense the triple-option attack of Tech. I think LSU wins this straight up.

    This is my homer pick.

    Oklahoma ML

I just can't see Florida outscoring Oklahoma. The defense's in the SEC are not as good as everyone thinks.. it's just that their offense's are not as good as the BigXII's so it appears that their defense's are better. I don't think anyone will say that Oklahoma will score less than 40 points in this game, meaning Florida will have to score more than that to win this game. Florida is capable up putting up 40+, but Oklahoma is capable of putting up 60+. Everyone forgets that Bob Stoops is a defensive mastermind. He will have the defense ready to stop Tebow. Lastly, Oklahoma's offensive and defensive lines are bigger than Florida's lines. Oklahoma has a significant advantage in the trenches and will wear down Florida's small line. We all know what happens when Oklahoma is able to run the ball.. it opens up the pass with a pretty good QB throwing the ball.

love all your picks and already made plays on all of them. I just dont agree with The OU pick...

The size advantage is false Alabama had a huge advantage in the trenches and OU is i would say about 35% smaller and probably not as fast. Ou has a great D line but there LB and Secondary are not very good at all. Florida has enough speed on D to make OU punt 2 or 3x which i think will be enough to decide the game. not trying to hate on your thread just some insight..
    Florida 52- OU 35
in a very high scoring Natl title game...

In this business, it's about what you've done lately not what you've done last year or the year before!!
(just look at P. Fulmer of TENN. and his record this season)

No way LSU has a chance in this one.

I do like the BCU -3.5 play though. They should beat VANDY by at least 10 pts.

I have already put $2,500 on BC, easy money. Under "Sure college bowl" or whatever it is I have detailed in a 2 page write up why BC will kill Vandy (my school)

Nice picks here Lout. You've had a good year. I will be posting my plays later in the week and I will be on at least 2 of your selections. I like Boston College and Texas. I must say I was leaning Georgia Tech, but still undecided on that one. GL this Bowl season!

jax, I think we are both homers in this game. We can both see our respective teams beating the other. Which makes this game difficult to cap. This is my least confident play, but the ML is worth making a small play on IMO. And just to point one thing out, is you are incorrect on Oklahoma's offensive line. OU has the 2nd largest Oline in the nation behind Texas Tech. Alabama is not bigger than Oklahoma. Not sure where you got 35% from...

Looking at this game, initially I liked Tech. The triple option is a tricky thing, but I think Les Miles will have a solution with having several weeks to prepare. LSU has a definate athletic advantage over Tech. I think this will be a close game, but I do think LSU does not lose this game by more than a FG.

I did post my play before hearing this news which definately hurts Oklahoma. But, Chris Brown and Madu are top notch RBs that could start for almost any team out there in D-I football. Oklahoma is loaded at almost every position. So I am not that worried about the loss of DeMarco Murray. One bit of news is that Florida's Offensive Coordinator (who calls the plays) has accepted the job at Miss. St, and they do not know whether or not he will be with them for the Nat'l Championship game.. losing him would be a rather large detriment to their football team offensively.
