The BCS standing is an issue, along with the Brian Kelly Sweepstakes. He was on Rome this week, being talked about for every job, and the last thing he wants to do is fall on his face vs. Hawaii right when he is in the national spotlight. There are plenty of motivating factors for the Bearcats.
