11/11/08 - Ball St @ Miami Ohio
As of now, undefeated Ball State (-16) looks to be the pick for me. I really liked how they looked in this past week's game against N. Illinois. However I don't know too much about Miami Ohio this year besides the fact they're 2-7. Any thoughts?

I like Ball St. big on the road. Miami (oh) cant stop anyone. Ball St. will put up 40 + points vs. that pathetic Defense. Miami (oh) scores 20 at best, doubt you'll even see that!
Ball St. = 41
Miami (oh) = 17

Up to 20 now. It has gone up 3.5 points in one day. That is crazy. If this goes over 21, this is a no play for me.

I'm a student at Miami. Take Ball St. minus any points that the book offers.
This football team is horrendous, the players are not motivated to play for Montgomery. BOTH QBs are terrible, and their defense cannot stop our intramural flag football team. There is actually a decent amount of hype for this game, but it is difficult for me to believe this team has a shot to even come close.
That being said i'm rooting for em'

I hear you cougar. That's what scares me about this game. However i am piling on ball st. -19.5...with miami OH so pathetic they are likely to take some under the table $$ to help out the spread.

Come on! Do you really think I was suggesting Miami could win outright? Nate Davis will have a huge game and Ball St. will roll. Probably a no-play at this point though...see it going to 20 possibly. GL if you play it.

Or NIU last week, right.
Ball has only not covered once this year.
Looks like a 40% chance of rain at 7:00.

Only thing I dont like
I don't like the weather that tends to slow the passing game and the game in general. I would have called this a sure bet at 16.
38 degrees and rain sucks for this spread at 19+ I think Ball St has something to still prove here. I of course lost with N.Ill the other week but had not seen Ball St all year they looked great and health. My Fault!

with rain i wonder how much that will affect nate davis, correct me if im wrong but doesnt he wear gloves and not hold the stitches of the football when he throws?i remember the announcers last week talking about it and they asked him why he didnt hold the ball on the stitches his response was" i have fat fingers"

That's right. He wears those grey gloves and doesn't hold the stitches. I had forgotten about that, this is good work snowman. We need to find out how Nate Davis has played in the rain with those gloves on. Of course, it is likely that Ball State could still beat Miami by 19 without throwing a single pass. All they have to do is let the defense intercept Radabaugh all game.

it'll be interesting, with 40% chance of rain, miami just not up to Ball St's caliber. Will this be a grind it out type of football game for Ball St, or do they keep throwing to get more votes........
Ball St is good. QB, WR's, D-line. Miami will have they're hands full, rain or no rain. it's interesting how fast the line moved within the last 24 hours, when the weather outlook was known.
oh well, i'll keep looking

I'm not concerned about the light rain. MiQuale Lewis has rushed for 100+ yards in every game this year except two, and Miami has an atrocious rush defense.
MiQuale Lewis rushing stats in 2008
Northeastern 95
Navy 114
Akron 154
Indiana 166
Kent 116
Toeldo 157
W. Kentucky 112
E. Michigan 75
N. Illinois 119
He will romp tonight.

i'm not saying Ball St or the RB doesn't romp.......i'm just wondering if Ball St is up 3-4 TD's in late 3rd early 4th, does Ball St pull their starters to give um rest, and to get them out of the rain to bar injuries........or keep pouring it on. if he pulls starters, worrying about a back door cover. just might take Ball St for the half. Ball St has shutout their opponent in the first half, for last 3 games.

I live 10 miles from Oxford Ohio, home of Miami University.
We are getting light showers right now, the temp is starting to dip. The stadium sits in a valley that is known for high winds.

Be careful with your half bet, sometimes Ball starts out kinda slow.Under
for the first half might be nice.
