I try to avoid playing any game where I don't have an edge. Of course I will deviate from this to keep a fish at the table or just to interact with other regulars so they don't angle shoot me. Usually it involves some sort of sports bet so I wound up here after getting some advice on where to go to start actually winning my sports bets.
If you don't have an edge (because you just want to gamble or are learning whatever) you should probably gamble within a budget. I can't imagine wagering amounts of money that would affect me without an edge because it would make me physically sick and If i ever thought I didn't have an edge anymore or could not get one I would just stop playing all together.
