Question Question about Craps Strategy and the Don't Pass Line?

Just curious about this because it seems too easy to be true...

-There are 6 ways to roll a 7, and 5 ways to roll a 6 or roll an 8, and it goes down from there.

-Therefore your odds of rolling a 7 are much higher than any other number

    -Odds of rolling a 7: 5 to 1
    -Odds of rolling a 6: 6.2 to 1

-So why not just bet on the Don't Pass Line and nothing else? Wouldn't your odds of winning be greater than 50%? Since your odds of rolling a 7 are greater than the odd of rolling the same number again?

So what am I missing here?

I'm up 50 points in the SBR casino using this strategy. I need to know if this is legit or not though!

Strategy: $1 on Don't Pass, If it comes out I put $2 on the Don't Pass Odds

    Up 100 points now!!

Seriously, am I getting lucky or have I found a loophole in the system? I really don't want to give myself that much credit because it just seems too easy.

I'll tell you a little more about my strategy though:

-Keep only $20 in the bank
    -Bet $1 on Don't Pass
-If it comes out, bet $2 on the Don't Pass Odds
-If it comes out on 4 or 10 and you have more than $20 in your bank, put down a lay bet equal to amount over $20
-When I reach $30 I exit and transfer $10 into my wallet to secure the winnings

I like your money management that might be the key

Yeah, I'm wondering if it's just the odds that get to you on coming out... I finally lost all 20 that was in my bank (so I finished yesterday up 80) mainly because I was hitting 7s and 11s before coming out. I also see you're paid less than 1:1 when you bet the odds (2:3 to 2:3.66, i believe). You're probably right, it's probably still a long term loser but at least here I can play until I lose the 20 and earn points back within 3 days just posting in the forums. But yes, money management is key!

Okay, new strategy. I don't play the odds anymore. Just the Don't Pass Line. Odds are less than 1:1 while the Line pays 1:1. Once you come out, you have more than a 50% chance of winning since a 7 will occur more times than any other single number! Chances of coming out or hitting 2,3, or 12, are also better than hitting 7 or 11.

Just made 40 more points easy off this.

Statistically, don't pass is slightly better than pass, but its not +EV

Thanks, maybe I was just getting lucky the first few days. I started losing a bit so I've decided to stop now but I'm still up from when I first started.
