    How could there be a strategy in a game of pure chance where no decisions are made

    not really - but you can wait until all the 3s and 6s are out of the deck(s) and then bet on the player/banker pairs - the odds are much increased for a v good payout

    I've heard about players counting cards... seems to me to be a guessing game.

    Yes, there are quite a lot of Baccarat strategies, but most serious players here in Vegas use a very standard system of just trying to recognize when a trend is about to run.

    Baccarat players keep track of the "Patterns" that develop as the games progress. If you look at a long history of Baccarat hands, you will notice certain trends that occurred. To keep track of the trends, the casino offers a sheet of paper so that you can mark down the results for a long period and observe the trends.

    For example:

    P = Player won the hand
    B= Banker won the hand
    T= Tie (Hands tied)

    P P B P P P B B P P B P T P B P P B B P B P B T B B ?

    If the trend continues, where the Player hits after the Banker wins twice, then the Player will win the next hand. This is a very simple example, probably not a very good one, but that is the idea....to try and recognize when a pattern or a streak is going to hit.

    Sometimes the Player or Banker will win 5, 6 or more times in a row. Can even be 15 times in a row or more. If the trends show that small streaks like this are occurring, you may want to repeat the bet when you think the time is right so that you can hit several times during the streak.

    Very profitable players will get in on the action when a long streak hits...letting it ride over and over again and getting out before it changes.

    I spent several hours over three days with a man who has developed a very complex system for keeping track of the trends. His system was actually too complicated to learn during the periods I spent with him, but he is able to predict ties and who will win with a fair amount of accuracy.

    You will go broke over the long haul, That is just a strategy not a winning strategy, There is no mathematical edge. There is no such thing as a professional baccarat player.

    I too would find it hard to believe that there are professional baccarat players or any other pros at the negative EV games.... the pros are usually only poker players. sports betters, race betters, blackjack counters, tournament players and video poker players.

    While playing the SBR Casino on the Banker side just now, Player streaked 14 in-a-row. I then switched to Player and yep you guessed it, immediately the Banker started streaking

    Anyway, while I have played a lot of Baccarat in the SBR Casino I have seen as much as 22 Bankers out of the 30 history and as much as 21 for the Player out of 30. So, it seems to streak a lot, at least when I play, which is about everyday so...

    BoL,

    So, I just tried it again, thinking it can't continue having the Player winning all the time.

    And what do ya think happened. I was playing the Banker and it went 22P 3T 5B, that is just crazy.

    A few days ago I was playing the player and the Banker kept streaking like crazy, so I thought I would switch. It just doesn't seem possible to happen like this all the time. Every now and then, perhaps, but nearly every single day. Seems something is way off.

    BoL,

    Sub-comment to comment re 3 and 6 removal

    In Baccarat a tie is more likely after a very high or low count or after equal high or low count with no 7, 8, 9, or any time when high or low groups have plus 3 and 7 8 9 has plus 2 or if one of the three groups are absent, also when there’s only 3 low cards, which would equate with the conception of 3s and 6s being removed.In Baccarat a tie is more likely after a very high or low count or after equal high or low count with no 7, 8, 9, or any time when high or low groups have plus 3 and 7 8 9 has plus 2 or if one of the three groups are absent, also when there’s only 3 low cards, which would equate with the conception of 3s and 6s being removed. Generally speaking, the same card counting principles are applied in blackjack with 2 to 6 equating plus 1 and ten, J, Q, K, A equating minus one, with prevalence of higher count or small odd cards being in favour of the player and vice versa.

    Counting would be the only mathematical advantage to playing similar to blackjack.
