Strikeforce: Miami
Two plays I like and one I don't but gotta post for public record's sake.
4* Nick Diaz -235 vs. Marius Zaromskis
3* Jay Hieron -315 vs. Joe Riggs
2* Robbie Lawler +160 vs. Melvin Manhoef
The fight I'm not feeling is the Lawler vs. Manhoef fight. It really reminds me of the Kampmann vs. Daley fight where if the better fighter fights smart (i.e. takes the fight to the ground) they win. Kampmann didn't and got KTFO. I have a strong feeling that the same is going to happen with "Ruthless" Robbie tonight.

I want to parlay diaz and heiron for a small play but my book is complete shit. Signing up on 5dimes next week, apparently, that's the book.
Lawler fight is a stay away for me as well. But i like the value on lawler better and would lean towards him.

5Dimes is definitely the book. I first signed up with them just because I could parlay fights. I use them and Bodog (can parlay here as well) but 5Dimes tends to have better lines.

Also, i see herschel winning tonight. Hard for me to see strikeforce giving him anyone that could threaten him in his first fight. He's a name and strikeforce values names more then anything right now. Just look at what they've given to lashley, a bunch of creampuffs. Lashley is a solid wrestler, and he's gigantic and powerful. Still, they've fed him like a baby so far. I imagine they're following protocol with Herschel.

Diaz will only test positive for Marijuana. And i thought they had this problem before his last fight and got it straightened out.

I would imagine it'd be a void bet and you'd get your money back.

Drug test results wouldn't come out till after the fight so it won't matter if its changed to a DQ. Once the fight is graded its over in terms of gambling.

Positive. Happened to me before when Stun Gun lost to Pariyisan but it got overturned afterward.
Just think about it though. If your in Vegas, they grade a guy a win and pay out to you. Then it gets overturned....they have no way to get the money back they paid to you. Thats why the initial grading of the fight is what counts for gambling. They can't go back and collect payouts or give refunds.

Signed up at 5dimes this afternoon.. will report on the sign up later... the sign up bonus is a bit misleading, but other than that, a decent sign up...
Back on topic re: the OP...
I'm with ya on Diaz and Hieron, but gotta go the other way with Manhoef.
GL!

Very nice! I was on Diaz, Hieron and a small Diaz/Hieron parlay, but I couldn't pull the trigger on Lawler. Great pick!

It's a good thing you didn't bet Lawler. He was getting crushed and landed maybe four shots total in the entire fight. I definitely got lucky with this pick. But I guess it is better to be lucky than good haha.

Nice hits. I was on Lawler as well and it appears we were on the wrong side. He was very gun shy which was suprising. Not really sure what the game plan was but his legs were absolutely destroyed by those leg kicks. I was thinking he was just being consservative in hope that Manhoef would blow his load in first round and gas completely, which may have been the case. Nonetheless, it worked out.

Why?
I thought the lawler fight was great. One of the craziest KO's ever. The Diaz fight was awesome, completely action packed. Herschel walkers fight was very interesting. Even the Cyborg fight was good, it was competitive and exciting. Overall, it was better then a lot of ufc's i've seen lately.

It was a good show, its always good to have 4 big names fighting on the card even if the opponents arent great.
Im glad strikeforce is putting on successful shows (seemed to be atleast) i just still think the level of compitition is way bellow ufc.
That being said, Lashley is ready to fight a top 20 heavyweight
Hershell looked better than kimbo
Cyborg is a machine
Diaz would b fun to see him fight Gsp, although Gsp will win

Well, they had 3 or 4 different guys who were supposed to fight him at strikeforce:miami and none was even top 100.
Whoever has been pulling the strings for him hasn't given him anything close to a potentially competitive fight.
