ya it should have been a no contest but wins a win. Id like too see a rematch, hamils dislocated arm would effect things a lot and hamil was doing fine standing up, even landed. I have no doubt hamil has better ground game when someone is mounted on him. I agree that it shouldn't have ended in a dq. There wasn't anything that was going to help Matt. Especially after the fight was stopped and Mazzagatti saw Matt laying on the ground so helpless at least call it a no contest or something....

my problem with this decision is that it gives incentive for fighters to not continue following illegal strikes.

for instance, lets pretned that next week diego lands an illegal knee on bj. bj is fine, but instead of continuing he prentends he cant continue knowing that by doing so he will get the win.

of course, jones cant get the win either, because it gives incentives to land illegal strikes.
