    UFC 172 (5 Unit Max Wager) 4/26

    It's that time fellas...

    Phil Davis -200

Not sure why the line isn't -500. Davis will easily keep Rumble at bay or on his back... Davis by decision.

You better off betting a baseball favorite -200

Let's keep this thread alive until fight time

Bump it up if it gets to the bottom

Rumble will struggle to keep his back off the mat.

    Davis by Decision with ease.

doesnt rumble have some pretty good wrestling credentials? I know hes not division I but The one thing im a bit worried about is rumble stuffing takedowns and keeping it on the feet and davis getting caught. My thoughts are that Davis striking has improved 100% working with the likes of Dominic Cruz and Gusty and even if he does get clipped I feel like he has an iron chin. He didn't seem to have any problems hanging with Machida.

I wouldn't be suprised if there was a fix in the making for a major upset and some bookie $$ just be careful with this card because I feel like it looks way to easy to make $

Rumble had decent wrestling cred at 170 and mostly because of his size.

Davis will make him feel like a fuggen fish out of the water when it comes to Johnson's new home at 205.

Definetly loving Phil Davis. Excellent play. Better cardio, better ground game, better wrestling, patience & will use his footwork to avoid Rumble and take him down (especially late in the fight) and rumble won't be able to get up. Needless to say I am also on Davis -200 for $500. GL to us all.

You didn't watch the fight did you. He won via unanimous decision and nearly ko'd arlovski in the first round. And what you think Phil davis has more legit standup? That fight was also at heavyweight.

Only way Johnson wins is by KO imo. People could hedge with Johnson by KO @ +400 or better.

However, I'm simply pounding the -200.

exactly, nearly KO'd Arlovski, you just confirmed what I stated. My point was Arlovski is the only half-decent opponent he's faced recently

I always remember how much trouble he had getting Lil Nog down anytime I start thinking Phil is good.

If Rumble stays back, Davis will be fine just like his Machida fight.. If Johnson pressures forward, he'll find himself on his back for 15 minutes..

    Let's not complicate things

And Rashad out wrestled him when Davis thought he had no chance to. Johnson wrestling may just be good enuf to win this. He isnt the greatest but he can bang and we all know Davis can't. Dangerous fight to take but if i had to i would still take Davis. Johnson does gas from time to time

You said he couldn't finish a "fragile" arlovski, and I said if you watch the replay he essentially DID finish arlovski in the first round and arlovski got saved by the bell. I also mentioned he's won 4 of his last 5 wins by KO meaning he has a realistic chance of KO-ing a terrible stand up fighter such as Davis.

Rumble has 5 minutes to KO davis who has shown an ability to avoid being hit.

Rashad's wrestling is a 'different level' compared to Rumble. Also, the DAvis vs Evans fight was much earlier in his carrer and might have been too early.

Lil nog vs Davis - Davis took the fight on short notice. Secondly, once he and the corner realized he had trouble getting the takedown with a double leg, they switched to single leg
    Rd 1 0 for 5 on takedowns
    Rd 2 2 for 3 on takedowns
    Rd 3 2 for 3 on takedowns

Finally we do not need him to win takedowns, we need him to win positioning. If his back is not against the fence for round 1, then he will be fine. Also, if this enters round 2, Davis odd's of winning increase greatly due to Rumble's prior history of conditioning.
