    Default Kimbo vs Alexander

Looks like Dana picked a good fight for Kimbo since Houston sucks on the ground and will stand up and bang with Kimbo.

Should be a good fight. Someone is going knocked the fukk out.

What's the line on this? I like Houston. His last fight vs Sherman from MTS was a good outing for him. Showed takedown def and added leg kicks. Has also been working on his ground game and the kicker is Kimbo might not have the best chin.

plus mmaweekly has an article saying how kimbo is having problems making weight...

plus houston can break kimbo down with leg kicks if he wants to keep his distance..

i got high hopes for kimbo and i think he's gonna have a good mma career...that being said, alexander is gonna shut him down. it'll give kimbo the chance to show off what he's learned so far from american top team and what its like to fight a tough muay thai fighter. this is the only ufc fight i'm really looking forward to so i'm gonna parlay this fight with a few from the K-1 GP.

Houston's chin is suspect. If he doesn't take Kimbo down he will probably get himself knockedout.

id have to give the suspect chin vote to kimbo quite easily.

Houston got ko'd by thiago, who is freakishly strong and great striker. Then he got ko'd by a flluke superman punch seconds into the first against irvin. Kimbo definitely has the power to ko, i just dont think he has the skill.

Kimbo never took a shot on the chin in his street fights or mma debuts(great head movement on kimbos part and shitty comp of course) but when he catches a powder jab from seth(his first real mma opponent), he drops like a brick. And houstons striking is better than seths and kimbos, or anyone kimbo has ever faced for that matter imo.

HA stiking seems to be more well versed as he has good leg kicks and good knees from clinch. I think kimbo's traditional boxing is better. he keeps his hands up, and uses good head movement.
first weight cut seems to be an issue for kimbo, unless he is just playing games, since it is hard to believe the guys at ATT havnt shown him the ropes.
they both have shown suspect chins.
interesting that kimbo had the knee problems on the show and didnt want to take another fight. i think he may be suffering from some confidence issues after being ko'd by petrezelli. Also, curious as to why, after 2-3 years of mma training, did he seem to be so clueless as to the ground fighting aspect.

in all, think it is fair to give houston fight around 70% of time, meaning value has been bet out of him and i would stay away at this point. maybe a little value in kimbo if line keeps goign up, but I personally would stay away.

Bas Rutten once told me that Kimbo didn't care for learning the ground game no matter how much he was told he needed it. That along with poor training habits lead to Bas not wanting to work with him anymore. Can't be good at MMA if you don't learn more then just throwing punches.

how is houston's chin? i know hes been koed before but can he take a punch from kimbo?

if so, i think houston has this in the bag. afterall... kimbo has been koed by seth petruzelli.

yeah, i meant to say both their chins are suspect and they are both mid 30's which doesn't help that but something about Houstons KO's makes me not want to pick him...i mean he goes stiff as a board every time he gets hit hard.

Kimbo is no great mma fighter but the mistake he made fighting Seth was his approach. He went in reckless like "i'm gonna knock this whiteboy out!" and left himself way too open. as you can see he doesn't do that anymore.

i think Houston will try to cruise with leg kicks and then a takedown. If he keeps it boxing then it's anyones fight with my lean towards Kimbo.

very disappointed with this fight... wonder who Kimbo will fight next, that is if his knee holds up... he couldn't move at all on it towards the end of the fight

I find it funny how houston did machidas exact game plan in round 1 and he didnt win.

Round 1- houston -12 strikes to 4. Fact of the matter is kimbo did nothing this round.
    Round 2- clearly kimbos
round 3- houston 27 strikes to 13 and a few of those rocked kimbo.

Houston definitely should have won 29-28, but kimbos win keeps a parlay of mine alive so it worked out.

i thought the same thing. i actually thought it was pretty clear 29-28 alexander. But after hearing the scores, I checked mmajunkie and sherdog and all 4 media scoring the fight gave it to Kimbo. So, I figured I was just too bias (betting on Alexander) to see the fight clearly. If anything I thought it was a draw 10-9, 8-10, 10-9.

i thought houston won the fight too by winning rounds 1 and 3.

even still, im not too dissappointed with my loss because houston's performance was just pathetic.

both kimbo and houston are absolutely terrible, and i have no idea why i overrated houston's stand-up game so much.

UFC is becoming more staged then WWE if you ask me. Quite obv Alexander was told to lose that fight, Either that or he was coached by Kaleb Starnes for the fight, That 1 point when he dropped Kimbo with that leg kick, Kimbo looks helpless looking up on the ground Alexander just stands there and lets him get up. Then round 3 he rocks him with a punch and Kimbo looks like a zombie once again Alexander doesnt even come in to finish him just stands there, Add in the joke decision on Bones Jones getting jacked and getting his 1st loss on his record when he destroyed Matt Hamill so badly. Hey bud are you ok nope ok you win the fight, That makes alot of sense to me. How the guy just says he cant continue so he wins. That and the Machida vs Shogun fight that was again a horrible judges decision, Vitor Belfort not even hitting Rich Franklin and the guy just falling over and laying there.Plus dont forget last months Randy Couture vs Brandon Vera fight, Again Vera won the fight forsure but he doesnt sell pay per views so lets give it to the 50 year old every washed up old man in America can cheer for on the next ufc pay per view. Bottom line is Dana White knows Kimbo will sell millions in pay per view and wants him around to make him money, Belfort the same thing so many guys on his nuts like hes the next MMA legend, So they will pay money when he fights. UFC IS FAKER THEN WWE now and i will never bet another cent on this rigged sport until they clean up there act.

LOL Rich Franklin has a glass jaw. Some fighters are just easier to KO than other fighters. If you think Franklin barely got touched, look at Paul Buentello at UFC 55.
