Rumour is that it wil be at a 215lb catchweight.

    Matt Hamill +170
    Jon Jones -210

Matt Hamill is no Jake O'Brien or Stephan Bonner. I think this line is a bit off. My guess is Jones will continue going down and I'll wait to get Hamill at over +200.

Spike TV on Monday issued a press release confirming the participation of Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson for “The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights” finale, which will take place on Dec. 5 at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

The release fell short of naming Kimbo’s opposition, indicating “Slice's opponent will be announced at a later date, pending on what transpires on the special two-hour ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ episode on Wednesday, Dec. 2.”

Strong speculation, however, indicates Kimbo will make his Octagon debut against Houston Alexander, who at a recent Nevada State Athletic Commission meeting, underwent a special licensing procedure for fighters over 35 years of age.

Coming off of nice tourney victory on 9/5/09 in Aruba. Fights were two 5 minute rounds and he defeated Antwain Britt (collegiate wrestling stand out) by armbar in finals and defeated IFL vet Aaron Stark by kimura in semi who has fought many UFC vets and picked up wins of Alex Shoenauer and Andy Reese. Assume he has good cardio picking up sub against strong opponents in 3rd fight of night.

High School State Champ, JUCO Nat'l Champion.

HArd to imagine Hamill using his wrestling to take this fight to the ground as he has shown no propensity to do so against much weaker wrestlers. Also, when he does he seems to either: 1) allow opponent up so he can work the front headlock and land punches or 2) drop bombs from over top or in half gaurd. Doesnt seem to control opponents on the ground. I do not think that will bode well for him, because if he allows Jones to stand with him Jones should pick him apart. His stand up looks far more technical and explosive. Hamill leaves hands down often.

This will probably be the most powerful man Jones has faced though which leaves some unknowns.

Can and will Hamill attempt to take him down and keep him there?
Does Jones have a solid chin?

I think line is accurate at current number.

I like hamill here, I would put the line much closer to around -160 for Jones, Jon's stand-up still needs a lot of cleaning up imo, I agree with you about not being able to control guys on the gound but I think the takedowns alone can steal hamill this fight, I can guarantee you one thing, Jones has never fought anyone close with the stand-up ability of hamill, bonnar and Obrien are bums, Jones with the speed advantage but Hamill is both the more powerful and accurate striker

Ill, I agree with your take on the fight to an extent. I actually put a small play on Hamill when line came out because I thought the line was high (clearly i took a bad line). But, the more I break down the fight, i think that Hamill is going to have a tough time taking him down and I think he is going to get hit too much. His defense seems to have holes imo and I think Jones speed is going to give him problems.

But, Hamill striking seems to get more refined each time out and he is very powerful.

Should be interesting. We will see if Jones is ready to step into the upper echeleon of the division. I think he has only been training mma for about two years and we don't know how he will handle adversity. If he does get put down and beat around, will he crumble? Not sure. But, Hamill can take it and keep pushing the pace, that is for sure.

I would like to see the Franklin/Hamill fight again, but cannot find it.

Hoping for a good number here, but I have to give some consideration to fact that Stann has been training at JAckson's MMA for over a year now. You would think you would see some better takedown defense then he displayed against Soszynski. Although Wallace has a boxing backround, he seems to keep his hands low and I would think he will be at a significant reach disadvantage, since Stann is about 6'1. Stann is a great athlete and has great power. Not sure about Wallace's chin. He definitely has a powerful right, but I would think he is going to want to dump Stann on the mat where he can use elbows (it didnt appear elbows were legal in the few fights i watched of his, or he may have had another finish), work to pass and look for submissions.

I cannot believe roy opened up -285. I thought the books would try to suck the public in on schaub. I figured roy would open around -150 and then he would move to be an underdog.

im also surprised marcus is -205.

I dunno, how long before there's enough value in Kimbo to make a play? I agree Alexander most definitely should win this fight, but he's now laying -280.....that seems a little stretched to me no? If I wasn't at work I woulda nabbed him at -115, but this price is pretty ridiculous now. Only thing that's telling me to not even bother is Kimbo's bad weight cut. The guy didn't even get a professional to help him. Said he's already at weight and doesn't even know what water-cutting is.....lol.
