Johny Hendricks is for real. I really hope the odds on him are good, and public bets are on Amir.

Thales Leites will step in for injured Rousimar Palhares to fight Alessio Sakara at UFC 101. Leites confirmed the news to MMAWeekly.com on Monday after an initial report from intheguard.tv said that Palhares had broken his leg in training and withdrew from the fight scheduled for Aug. 8 at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. Sources close to the fight said the loser of the bout would likely be cut from the UFC.

Following Wednesday's official announcement of a main event between UFC lightweight champion B.J. Penn and top contender Kenny Florian, the UFC officially named its Aug. 8 pay-per-view event "UFC 101: Declaration."

I love BJ Penn, My good friend Gabe Ruediger swears hes the most complete fighter out there, but i have strong doubts.
BJ Looked good in his past 3 wins , but the sherk match was a boxing match and a horrible gameplan by sherk. He destroyed Joe Stevenson, but so did K-Flo , and he beat a washed up Jens Pulver.
on the other hand, Kenny Florian is riding high on confidence. Hes beaten Robinson, Huerta, Stevenson, Stout.
Also, the way he called out B.J. Penn , unbelivable. You do not do that unless you know your ready. The last thing you want as a fighter is the world knowing you declared victory over somebody, then they beat your ass.
B.J. Penn is a streaky, moody fighter who shows flashes of brilliance and flashes of complacincy. Kenny Florian has my money that night, hopefully the line goes higher.

Also, Matt Hamil should get the win over Vera, I know Vera looked great against mike Patt (the guy who got me into MMA) but Patt is past his prime and Vera .. well i dont know whats wrong with him. Hamil is on a tear except for that one lose to Rich Franklin, but Vera def is no Franklin

I can't think about poor Hamill without remembering the shaft he got vs. Bisping. Downright criminal.

Streaky? The guy's last 4 losses have been to GSP twice, Hughes in his prime, and Lyoto Machida at 205 pounds. Those are two hall of famers and one guy who is undefeated and fighting for the LHW belt. You are more clueless than I thought. Can't wait to bring this post up after B.J. runs through Florian.

You got me, im totally clueless. Im very unaware that BJ penn is 4-4 in the last 4 years. Sure he lost to good opponents, but his only quaility win i would say was against Joe Stevenson.(Who K-Flo DEMOLISHED ! Other then that ... what has Jens pulver done lately ??? The Sean Sherk fight was all on Sherk, hes not a stand up fighter, he tried 1 takedown attempt the whole fight, he was waiting for BJ to get tired and he got caught at the end of the third. Horrible strategy by Sherk. As for the Renzo Gracie fight, i dont wanna take anything away from him, hes great friends with my old Ju jitsu coach Chad Lebrun, but hes an old school fighter. He cant compete with the top talent of the UFC.
Anyways, if you think BJ vs. K flo is a mismatch and the line is off, then by all means, put your whole bank roll on it, i wish you success. I wont sit here and say your clueless (By the way , Penn vs. Machida wasnt a 205 fight, it was openweight, BJ was like 188 and Lyoto was like 215). Beast of luck

I find it hilarious that you complete neglect BJ's takedown defense. Sherk didn't shoot because he can't take down BJ and even if he did BJ is awesome off his back. Other than GSP and Hughes nobody at 155 or 170 can keep BJ on his back. Randy Couture has even said when he trained wih BJ he had trouble keeping him down. Sherk went for a takedown in the opening minute which you must have completely forgot and wasn't even close to taking BJ down. It wasn't going to happen.
What happened when Florian and Sherk fought? Also which one of the three guys that BJ lost to would Florian have beat? Talk is cheap but be prepared because this will be brought up after BJ defends his belt.

Also to make a victory over Sean Sherk seem insignificant even makes you look more clueless. The fact that you think Sherk decided not to take BJ down also shows lack of MMA knowledge. Sherk would have loved to have dry humped BJ for 5 rounds but he wasn't going to get him down. "Beast of luck" winning on Ken-Flo.

Good , i look forward to being the victim in your little online feud, but that fact of the matter is this, Sherks take down got stuffed cause it was completly half-assed. he thought BJ was stumbling, but BJ regained balance and he backed away from it. He was assuming BJ was training for him and alot of takedowns, so he figured he would go in differently.
As for Florian and Sherk, 3 years ago, it went Five 5 minute rounds. Florian is alot better now and i think he would win the rematch, i dont think he could beat GSP , and im pretty sure he would beat Matt Hughes. So you can comeback and attck my thoughts saying "This guy is such an idiot, no way he beats hughes or Sherk" Thats okay with me, and if Florian beats Penn, wheich is more then capable of, ill just smile and cash in. Then ill start my picks for the next UFC so you have something to bitch about.

Are Kidding me ? I first want to thank you, we have had a shitty day over here, but you managed to put a smile on my face. I never steated Sherk didnt wanna take Penn down. Everybody knows that Sherks weapon of choice is the lay and pray. What i said was that he didnt attempt any take downs because he would to strike with BJ and wear BJ out. Thats not Myth, that was from Sherks lips after the fight. He got caught and went down. My thoughts were , as good as BJ's take down defense is, Sherks striking is no where near on par with BJ's. He should have game planed differently with more take down attempts as oppose to saying, well his take down defense is so good , ill just hope his condtioning sucks. Rule number 1 of combat sports "Never rely on your oppnents ignorance." He was counting on BJ to have no condtioning at the end of the fight and it cost him. Plain and simple.

Sorry Bread but this guy is really annoying. Between his stupidy, gay name dropping, and expert MMA act it just drives me nuts. We all know the guy caught a few shows on SPIKE and now all of a sudden thinks he has the UFC figured out. We will see who is right in August.

I think the fight between bj and kenny will be closer than jerseyrob thinks but my money will be on bj, Kenny has improved a great deal since the show, he may have even become a better fighter than I ever thought he could be but My biggest fear is how B.j is going to treat this fight, we have seen a lack of training from bj before and Im not sure how hyped he gets for this fight

You figured me out. Thats okay tho , cuase im going to make millions off this UFC stuff. Brock Lesnar will destroy frank mir, i mean sure , his MMA experience is small, but if you combine it with his WWE record, the guy is beast .
Im glad you read a few of my post and think you got me all figured out. From what it seems so far, as long as every favorite wins this weekend, you will be 100% . Id really like to see your full card, maybe an amature and newbie into the world of MMA such as myself can learn from .

See a newbie like you would bet on every fight. I jumped on Sherk at -225 and have 1600 on him so yes you would be correct "if every favorite wins this weekend, I'll be 100%" .

I am pretty new in that aspect, but and there are a few i wont be playing . But thats what we are debating. Your saying im some guy who saw a few episodes on spike and i think i know everyhing. All i have done is offer my opinon on each of the fights for saturday. You seem to be deeply offended by my picks , so just out of curiosity , what are your picks for the rest of the card ? By the way, i think Sherk should win to, but im not 1600 sure, so best of luck with that. Hopefully he decides to take the fight tp the ground.
