Two exciting featherweight prospects are set to clash at UFC 143.

Officials today announced that Erik Koch and Dustin Poirer have been inked to meet at the Super Bowl weekend event, which takes place Feb. 4 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and airs live on pay-per-view.

Poirer requested the fight after very recent win. Both fighters are undefeated inside the octagon.

I don't really like the Poirer vs Koch match up. It will be a great fight and fun to watch. But they are pitting two young fighters on win streaks that both could fight for the belt after 1-2 more quality wins. Why derail one of your contenders? There aren't many featherweights that deserve a title shot.

people will overvalue diaz after his performace against penn... diaz weakness has always been wrestling and george will take him down at ease and will not dare to stand and risk exchanging punches with the long and lankerer diaz.... GSP will fight a smart fight and grind out Nick as per usual for most of his fights... value will be had on GSP because the public loves the last performance of fighters, and will see DIaz as a capital Live dog, when in reality, hes just a small l live dog...

If Koscheck goes back to his wrestling, this is an easy win against condit... condit is tough and very durable, but he can't wrestle anywhere near the level of UFC WW top guys - GSP, KOS, FItch....

wow, kongo vs nelson would be an extremely entertaining fight if kongo wasn't so much stronger. I love fighters like Nelson because he never backs down to a fight even when he's getting his ass kicked. Which is what I expect to happen in that fight against the roman gladiator, unless nelson lands one of those haymakers he likes to throw. Kongo will probably copy the frank mir game plan and just slam nelson on the mat the whole fight. Nelson has a granite chin so I doubt Kongo will try to go for the KO, but if Nelson can somehow get on top of Kongo on the ground things could get interesting. I still think Kongo is too strong for nelson in most areas and nelson would have a hard time finishing Kongo in my opinion.

I think GSP will just wrestle out a decision against Diaz. I can't really blame him for that though, because Diaz is a beast on the feet.
