CONTEST RULES

1) Contest Dates

a) Contest begins Wednesday, 06 Sep 2006 (once The Prick has posted his picks for week one games played 9/10 Sep) and runs through Sunday, 31 Dec 2006.
b) Weeks 1 & 2 (9/10 Sep, 16/17 Sep) are noted as The Prick’s Preseason. Prizes will be awarded for the weekly winners, but points accrued in those weeks do NOT count towards the season ending grand prizes.
c) Beginning in Week 3 (23/24 Sep) and running through Week 17 (30/31 Dec), all points will count towards the season ending grand prizes.
d) To be eligible for the season ending prizes, a contestant must play in 13 of the 15 weeks beginning in Week 3 and running through Week 17.

2) Sign-up: Contestants will need to do the following BEFORE being eligible to enter the contest:

a) An account at BetCRIS must be established. No fees or deposits necessary at time of registration.
b) Contestants must register as an active poster at SBR Forum.
c) Contestants must register for the contest at www.BeatThePrick.com, providing both their SBR Forum posting handle AND a valid BetCRIS account number.

3) The Prick will make four (4) selections from the Saturday-Sunday college and NFL games listed as of 5:00 p.m. (ET) on Tuesday of each week at the BetCRIS website.

a) Among the four picks, one will be designated one as The Prick’s ‘best bet.’
b) ‘The Prick’ shall list his picks in the Contest Forum thread no later than 9:00 a.m. (ET) each Wednesday.

4) Once The Prick has made his selections, those four games will be removed from the board and contestants may begin to enter their four (4) picks from the listed games in the designated weekly thread.

a) Contestants will designate one of their picks as their ‘best bet.’
b) Contestants must have their selections posted no later than 11:00 a.m. (ET) each Saturday.
c) Entry posts/picks may not be edited by the contestant for any reason.

5) Scoring:

a) ‘Best Bets’ that win are worth +2 points; losing ‘best bets’ are worth -2 points.
b) All other winning picks are worth +1 point; all other losing picks are worth -1 point.
c) Pushes count as zero (0) points.
d) Best score for a single week is +5 points; worst possible score is -5 points.

6) As the name of the contest specifies, any winner(s) must Beat the Prick. If, for example, The Prick tallies three (3) points for a given week, any winner(s) must score four (4) points to Beat the Prick.

7) Prizes: Before being eligible to claim any prize(s) listed, contestants must make a one-time minimum deposit of $100 USD into their BetCRIS account, regardless of any previous or current balance, no later than 10:00 p.m. (ET) on the Thursday after the FIRST time they are declared a weekly winner. Failure to do so will result in disqualification of contestant's eligibility for any season-ending grand prizes. Any and all subsequent weekly bonus prizes will not require additional deposits beyond the initial $100 minimum. All bonus awards are subject to 5x rollover, as well as BetCRIS terms and conditions.

The Fine Print
• Either SBR Marketing or BetCRIS may deny entry or prizes for any contestant without cause and rules may be modified without prior notice.

• BetCRIS has sole authority over any and all accounts established at their site, and players must meet requirements per BetCRIS before withdrawal(s) will be processed.

• All ties for weekly prize(s) shall be broken in favor of the contestant with the highest number of winning picks for that week, followed by the fewest number of losses for that week. Ties amongst contestants with equal scores and equal records each week shall be broken in favor of the contestant(s) with the highest number of posts at SBR Forum. For example, if there are 51 winners during one week, the contestant with the fewest posts at SBR Forum shall not be awarded a prize. A contestant’s post count for a specific week shall be determined and recorded at the time the contestant makes their selections in that week.

• All ties for season ending grand prizes shall be broken by the most winners among the ‘best bets’ of the contestants involved in the tie. For example, if two contestants tie for the most points at the end of Week 17, with one contestant having 11 wins among their weekly ‘best bets’ and the other having 10 wins among their weekly ‘best bets,’ the contestant with 11 wins will be deemed the winner. In the event of a tie among their ‘best bets,’ the contestant with the most number of posts at SBR Forum as of the time of their Week 13 picks (02/03 Dec 2006) will be deemed the winner.

• Contestants are responsible for making their selections before the deadline each week. Issues such as the Internet being down, specific SBR servers being down, etc., are not the fault of SBR or BetCRIS.

• In the event that a college or NFL contest is rescheduled (i.e., due to weather) after lines are posted, all attempts will be made to contact the contestant(s) to make a substitute pick. In the event contact cannot be made, the game will be listed as ‘no action’ on the contestant(s)’ score.

• One (1) contest entry per household. No duplicate contest entries or e-mail addresses, and each contestant’s IP address must not be obscured, cloaked or otherwise unidentifiable.

• All contestants must be 18 years old or older at the time of contest registration.

• SBR Employees are eligible to participate in the contest but are ineligible to win prizes.

• Void where prohibited by law. All eventual winners are responsible for any and all taxes that may be applicable according to the contestant’s residency. Winners may be photographed and those images used by SBR Marketing for future promotions.
