Ned Yost, reaffirming his position as worst manager in baseball
Bringing in Gagne for the 8th with a 1-run lead instead of Guillermo Mota, who'd turned in 10 consecutive scoreless appearances (now 11 after a clean 9th inning) and didn't allow a run in August. Comical.
Of course, it wouldn't have mattered if Sheets didn't leave the game with tightness in his groin after 5 scoreless innings and only 54 pitches. Mets weren't scoring on Sheets this afternoon. This had complete game shutout written all over it.

Yost does it again tonight. You're fighting for a playoff spot, your team's been struggling of late, CC gives you 7 strong and Gagne's the first one out of the pen to try to hold onto a 1-run lead? Unbelievable.

Don't have a penny of actual money on Milwaukee. I do, however, have them in a few contests I'm in contention for. Needles to say this would be a crippling loss.
Terry Francona (a pretty poor manager in his own right) learned fairly quickly last season not to put Gagne in in big spots. Only Ned Yost can make Francona look intelligent.

The only play on this game was SNG. 2 much chalk in CC starts. The only way to go was to go against CC in his last 3 starts.
