Default Rays are the play tonight

I dont like to stick my neck out and post a thread telling people to play one unless it looks really, really good to me, and this one does. Not saying its a lock, they dont exist, but its a very good value as the line has been beat up by people backing the Angels on the theory that "they won't get swept".

The rays are 43-10 in their last 53 home games. This year they are 6-2 against the Angels and are 5-0 against the Halos at Tropicana Field. The angels are 1-4 on their current road swing and have just about locked up the AL West. Weaver has struggled in his last 5 starts, with a 6.57 ERA and 1.58 WHIP. The Angels are just 5-8 in Weaver's road starts, in which he's 5-5 with a 4.89 ERA and 1.45 WHIP. On the other side, Garza has a 3.48 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. He's lights out at home, going 6-2 with a2.47 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. Weaver doesnt eat up alot of innings, which could also be a problem as Shields and Oliver both pitched last night for the Angels pen and were less than spectacular. The Angels are slightly better offensively than the Rays are vs. right handed pitchers as of late, but i think the pitching disparity more than makes up for the small gap between the two offensively.

Line currently -112 at BetOnline, great value.

bet whoever you want jonny, its fine with me

but peavy is not much better, if at all, than haren
especially on the road, with no offense, on an AWFUL team against a first place team

gl with your bets

You couldn't be more wrong. Weaver is 2-0 this year against the rays. Winning once in LA and once in TB. I've been on the rays the first two games but I don't see the Angels getting swept by the rays with Weaver on the mound. The angels are the play tonight.

weaver has a 1.50 ERA in 14 innings vs TB with a 2-0 record

so if you like TB under may be good play as well

Yes, all of the stats i wrote are much less important to this game than the two games Weaver has pitched this year vs. the Rays.

qhoi cares what weaver did the first two games, is weaver a 1.5 era pitcher? nope, so why wouldnt he come back to the norm today

what a pointless stat

Thats two posts i've read from this guy and neither makes sense. If he thinks the Angels are the play i'd kinda like to know why, besides weaver winning 2 games against them two months ago.

i mean, both of these teams are awesome, so its not bad to bet either
and you can use any stats you want to bet either side,

a: laa doesnt get swept, so bet laa
b: weaver kicks tb's ass this yr, bet laa
c: tb doesnt lose at home, bet tb
d: garza is a bad ass at home, bet tb

i mean, it can go on and on

but using weavers prior stats vs tb, as if he has them befuddled, is dumb

weaver is garbage

he isnt lackey or haren or webb or johan

he is a #3-4 starter, on the road, ojn a team with nothing to play for

ps. marlins

what trends do you speak of...im curious because i was simply gonna bet the angels based on the fact that i dont think garza will have a good game.

Pretty much the only trends that i've found are banking on the fact that the angels wont get swept and that Weaver has pitched well in two games against the rays this year.

am on the angels because they have a better team and gave the game away yesterday . the rays played great and made some outstanding defensive plays ..
sun might not shine on a dog's butt 3 nights in a row against a serious powerhouse team .
some breaks should go in the angels favor in game 3 tonight ..

i actually was looking for the rays pen to give it away is why i had the angels last night and it worked in reverse . shields in the 8th was the curse .
angels let them get away early , should have had a 3 or 4 run inn early but it fizzed out .

Your funny man. Don't get mad. I'm just teasing you. Some pitchers pitch well against certain teams just like some batters hit well against certain pitchers and in certain ballparks. To say that weaver being 2-0 this year against a team like the rays is a useless stat is absurd. Find out the hard way buddy.

I posted that before you began making sense, rough start but you got on track. If thats the way you cap and its successful then stick with it, i'm just giving my opinion on what makes the rays a strong play. We'll see in a couple of hours.

stats are how the lines are created . what else do the oddmakers have to look at to release the OPENING LINES .
if the stats were the primary way to go there would not be so many dog wins / balanced results for the day is normal . lol
instead dogs win all the time and the spread covers in all sports get screwed like clockwork .

I took NYM -1.5 and TAM -1.5 parlay.

Tampa just had 1st and 3rd 1 out and popped out and struck out. Tie game. My only shot now is a 2 run home run in the 9th or extras lol

Halos win! Weaver is now 3-0 against the rays this year. Remember this next time weaver pitches against the rays. Not a useless stat. The man can pitch the rays well. Close game but a win is a win. Very tough for ANY team to sweep the angels regardless of who is pitching

I think i'll start following the pitcher thing a little closer. Not handicapping with it yet, but just following to see if there is anything to it.
