FYI
* The Yankees are itching to be swept in this series.
* The Angels are back to earth. Don't expect anything different today.
* An outstanding bullpen is no guarantee for a road win (ask the Phillies).
* A team that hardly wins road games doesn't joke with home games.
* You don't need any courage to pick the right UNDER plays nowadays.

Texas +180
Athletics -105
Braves -120
Twins -135
Phillies/Braves UNDER 9 (+100)
Dodgers/Astros UNDER 8.5 (-110)
Padres/Rockies UNDER 9.5 (-120)
Athletics/Angels UNDER 7 (-125)

Too many plays? It's because they're irresistible.

It's unfortunate that our dear Redding failed to get his 10th straight win. The Marlins won it by a hair's breadth - last inning rally and OT. Was that really a victory? The Marlins should be ashamed of themselves.

TODAY'S FREE PLAY: 7/1/08 - CLE vs CHW UNDER 8.5
I am rolling on yet another Danks play. It is almost a tradition at this point. As my customers know, I have made a lot of cake on Danks this season. The under is 11-3 in Danks' last 14 starts. He has been especially hot lately, and is carrying a 1-0 record with a 0.50 ERA in his last 3 starts. On the other side, Lee has been solid this season. He is 11-1 on the season with a 2.34 ERA (1.66 ERA in his last 3 starts). The under is 4-1 for Cleveland in their last 5 games vs a lefty starter. CHW is also 4-1 on the under in their last 5 vs lefty starters. This should be a great matchup with a fairly low run output.

The total has been adjusted to 7.5. Under 7.5 is still a gift in this one.

Phillies EVEN
Seems an odd wager to take a team that is just 2-9 in their last 11, right? Could be. But I'm banking on Kyle Kendrick to end another Philly slump. Kendrick was on the hill for one of the 2 wins in their last 11, a 4-0 win for PHI over OAK that broke a 7 game losing skid. Kendrick has been a quiet money maker with his team winning 12 of his 16 starts and 8 of his last 10. That includes 2 wins against Atlanta. Dating back to '07, the Phils have won 3 of Kendrick's 4 starts against the Braves. So, ATL could be the tonic for the Phils, having taken 5 of 6 from them this season and all 3 at "The Ted."

Cubs +105
Apparently the books aren't ready to respect the Cubbies on the road, but at + money this one looks like a better than average shot for a W. Marquis has actually been better on the road this season for Chicago, amassing a 3-1 record with a 3.51 ERA. The Cubs have won his last 3 roadies and 5 of his last 6 starts overall. Marquis also is used to pitching in SF with a 3-0 lifetime mark vs. SF, all coming on the road. Matt Cain continues to frustrate with his inconsistency for SF. His home record this year isn't as dominant as it was in '07, just 2-3 with a 4.47 ERA. When he does pitch well, run support seems to be an issue. The Giants have dropped his last 4 home starts.
