Cast aside the stats, ignore the pitching match-up, forget what you know about Reynolds, don't bother about the Tigers' home advantage. On paper, one would take the Tigers RL, but just wait and see! Anyone who has been in this business for a reasonable while and is a good student of the difference between stats and REALITY, will know the REAL favorite in the Rockies/Tigers game.

I'm trying to be a good student and learn from you, how do you determine that Rockies a REAL favourite? Is it because that Rockies lost 4 in a row, or Tigers try to sweap series? Can you explain what in REALITY makes Rockies Favorites that bookies don't know? Thanks.

This series has favored the under in 2008 with 4 of the 5 games hitting UNDER and the other would have pushed today's total. Bannister takes the hill for KC where his home starts have gone UNDER in 7 of 9 tries. Note that the last two starts at home were the overs. Bannister did pitch very well vs. STL earlier in a 3-2 KC win @STL. Looper for STL was involved in that same pitcher's duel. His road starts have been pretty average with 4 ER given up in 3 of his last 6 on the road. Both bullpens remain steady & fairly well rested.

Reynolds for the Rockies is 2-0 in Interleague starts with like a .73 ERA. Both of those games were home games, and I think it is irrelevant. NL pitchers have a better chance of throwing better games against NL teams because as we all know, no DH. Its a coincidence that Reynolds' best two outings have been interleague, and at home. Rockies were lucky to have a chance to win last nights game, and still lost. They are pathetic, especially on the road. Rogers has had a lot of time off, but I'm sure he is ready to come back, especially against Colorado. Detroit has won 16 of their last 20, and they are in favorable position to make it 17 of 21. Even if there MAY be value in the Rockies. Its still a shot in the dark on a 12-30 road team against one of the top 3 hottest teams in baseball right now.
