Starting Thursday (May 1), we will start a new May Baseball Underdog of the Day Contest with a prize of $250 account at BetJamaica, 3 time roll-over. Last place will receive a $25 BetJamaica account with a 3 time roll over. If there is a tie for last place in both units and wins (20 plays minimum), there will be be multiple last place boobie prizes.
*IMPORTANT* All players must have an account at BetJamaica prior to making picks Sign up here Before participating, players must PM their BetJamaica account ID to SBRforum Staff 1. Check in the BASEBALL HANDICAPPING FORUM each day for the daily thread to be posted by LT Profits. Lines will be posted by 1:00 p.m. (ET) each day. Plays may be posted before that, but the official posted lines will be used for grading. 2. Only the UNDERDOGS in games posted by LT will be eligible for selection, which will be only games that have underdog prices of greater than +110. 3. All plays will be RISKING one unit, and selections may NOT be changed once posted. 4. Here’s the catch: Your play must include a write-up! The write-up does not have to be long, just a sentence or two (or more) about why you are making your play. 5. Entries that are past-post or do not have analysis will be NO ACTION. Any edited post will count as a LOSS! If you make a mistake, need to add analysis or wish to enter a corrected line, do so in a separate post. This holds true even if the first game on the schedule did not go off yet. It also holds true for past-posts and entries with no analysis. It does NOT hold true for posts that are not contest selections, i.e. standings, commentary posts, LT's notes to posters or congratulatory posts. 6. And here’s the fine print: • Must be 18 years of age or older to participate. • One entry per home and computer. • Must use lines posted in daily thread by LT Profits • Maximum one underdog pick per day, minimum 20 underdog plays required to be eligible for monthly prize. • Tiebreaker for first place is total WINS. If still tied, combatants will carry on a head-to-head underdog match until winner is determined. This would begin on the first day of next month with no passes allowed. If co-leader passes during tie-breaking period, he or she is eliminated, even if other co-lealers lose. • All decisions made by SBR with regards to this contest are final. • SBR employees eligible to participate but are not eligible to win the monthly prize.

Well, it looks like Wrigley has won his third contest in four months, unless there is a +265 dog available on the final day of the contest Saturday for shantystar to try and shock the world with. The more interesting competition is for the boobie prize, where treece remains one play short after being one minute past-post on Friday.

NATIONALS + 210
In this battle of righties today, Bergman really has a shot. I mean look @ his last three starts: Averaged 6.5 innings per start, No ER's in any of those 3 games, Averaged giving up only 4 hits in those games, While striking out 22, And walking only 6. Good way to end the month! Oh yea, congrats Wrigley! You da man! ![]() |

Chicago White Sox
Gotta stay with this team, here-- no way they should still be underdogs of this magnitude. Kazmir has been a beast lately; the White Sox won the first game of this series; and they lost last night's game in the bottom of the 9th. |

Nice job wrigley. Even though I think there should be an additional rule that states that you must bet once every three days in order to be eligible for the monthly prize.
Bergmann +200 The Nats beat them yesterday and Bergmann has been awesome this month without giving up a run. |

Kazmir has been a beast lately but Vasquez has also been pitching well and the CHW offense has been been as good/better than the Rays' of late.

BLUE JAYS +127: Marcum has been very sharp this year with a 2.64 ERA and a fantastic 0.87 WHIP in 71.2 innings, the Toronto offense is finally coming around and the Blue Jays are a Bullpen System play.

Toronto Bluejays +127.....Rarely do you get an underdog line as good as this one with a starting pitcher as good as Marcum. I know Lackey used to be a solid home fave but this is just too good to be true. Lackey better go deep in this one (which is very possible) because the Bluejays bullpen is fresh and very good whereas, after you get past the Angels starting rotation, the gap in their data is staggering. The Angels offense isn't overly impressive either. Absolutely love this play.

969 Chicago White Sox +137
The White Sox are playing good in their own right as they took their series in Cleveland and have now won 12 of their last 16 games to remain in first place in the American League Central. They are doing it with clutch hitting and solid pitching, the latter being most effective having allowed three runs or fewer in 13 of those 16 games. Playing on the road is far from an issue as Chicago has won eight of its last 10 games to move two games over .500 away from home. Go Chicago... |

First off, thanks LT for putting this contest on. I know I suck at underdogs, but it is fun competing.

Liking the W'Sox to move up in the series here. Looking at team performance and expected SO's leans to the RD dog. Vasquez has almost triple batters faced to that of Kazmir. |

Yes sharktank1,
I wasn't picking all those losers for no reason lol. He originally selected the marlins as his play but once they were ahead 7-2 edited his pick to the jays. That should be no-action and only have 19 plays not eligible for the prize. |

treece,
You DO have action...on the MARLINS! I will not allow you to circumvent the rules in a manner that you benefit with a cash prize by editing your post in an attempt to get an automatic loss. So I will pretend you never did that and keep your Marlins play alive. Congrats on the WINNER. ![]()

the rules should be fixed anyway, it made it too easy. besides everyone hates me here, thats why i didn't win. i know LT and junkyard are probably good buddies in real life. i got screwed on friday when i had the marlins and they lost, i had it posted at 7:05 i know someone edited it to read 7:06 just to fvck me. and then yesterday i read the rules and it says any edited post will count as a loss and i get marked as a win.
5. Entries that are past-post or do not have analysis will be NO ACTION. Any edited post will count as a LOSS! If you make a mistake, need to add analysis or wish to enter a corrected line, do so in a separate post. This holds true even if the first game on the schedule did not go off yet. treece,
No, you were one minute late on Friday because the system officially said 7:06. That is NOT something that could be edited. As for yesterday, I already gave you my reasoning. You had a winner with the Marlins and went in and edited your post on purpose so that you would get an automatic loss and win the last place prize. I will not allow such nonsense, amd will add a stipulation in the rules.
