Starting Thursday (May 1), we will start a new May Baseball Underdog of the Day Contest with a prize of $250 account at BetJamaica, 3 time roll-over. Last place will receive a $25 BetJamaica account with a 3 time roll over. If there is a tie for last place in both units and wins (20 plays minimum), there will be be multiple last place boobie prizes.
*IMPORTANT* All players must have an account at BetJamaica prior to making picks Sign up here Before participating, players must PM their BetJamaica account ID to SBRforum Staff 1. Check in the BASEBALL HANDICAPPING FORUM each day for the daily thread to be posted by LT Profits. Lines will be posted by 1:00 p.m. (ET) each day. Plays may be posted before that, but the official posted lines will be used for grading. 2. Only the UNDERDOGS in games posted by LT will be eligible for selection, which will be only games that have underdog prices of greater than +110. 3. All plays will be RISKING one unit, and selections may NOT be changed once posted. 4. Here’s the catch: Your play must include a write-up! The write-up does not have to be long, just a sentence or two (or more) about why you are making your play. 5. Entries that are past-post or do not have analysis will be NO ACTION. Any edited post will count as a LOSS! If you make a mistake, need to add analysis or wish to enter a corrected line, do so in a separate post. This holds true even if the first game on the schedule did not go off yet. It also holds true for past-posts and entries with no analysis. It does NOT hold true for posts that are not contest selections, i.e. standings, commentary posts, LT's notes to posters or congratulatory posts. 6. And here’s the fine print: • Must be 18 years of age or older to participate. • One entry per home and computer. • Must use lines posted in daily thread by LT Profits • Maximum one underdog pick per day, minimum 20 underdog plays required to be eligible for monthly prize. • Tiebreaker for first place is total WINS. If still tied, combatants will carry on a head-to-head underdog match until winner is determined. This would begin on the first day of next month with no passes allowed. If co-leader passes during tie-breaking period, he or she is eliminated, even if other co-lealers lose. • All decisions made by SBR with regards to this contest are final. • SBR employees eligible to participate but are not eligible to win the monthly prize.

Really like this one. Cantreras in his last 3 games has an ERA of 1.71. |

Hendrickson has been pretty good this whole year. Myers has been atrocious. The fish hit .272 against righties. The phils hit .257 versus lefties. |

looks like Junkyard dog is going to get the boobie prize for last, unless treece plays 1 more loser to get to his 20 game requirement .

PIRATES +147: Duke has pitched well vs. Cardinals, with three Quality Starts in his last four outings against them. I still think Wellemeyer has pitched over his head and some regression is inevitable. Also, the Pirates actually have a higher team batting average in the last 10 games (.270) than St. Louis does (.258).

913 Washington Nationals +166
Washington is certainly not a team that is playing great but it is almost the exact opposite of the Diamondbacks. After a 5-15 start, the Nationals are a respectable 18-17 since then and have lost back-to-back games just six times. They are 6-5 over their last 11 road games which is rather good considering it came into that run on a 2-12 run away from home. Washington comes in posting a solid 3.16 ERA from its starters over the last 10 games and has allowed four runs or fewer in seven of its last 11 games. So go Washington... |

Houston +130.....Neither pitcher is very impressive in my opinion so I'll go against the team that looks a bit in disarray. Having watched the Brewers game yesterday, I can't believe how many silly mistakes they were making; granted it is a day game and getaway as well where the teams seem a little lackadasical but......Parra doesn't impress me, Oswalt gave 7 strong innings last night so the bully is fresh for Houston (even though they are not very good) and I've always liked Backe's ultracompetitiveness. Let's try this dog.
Good luck to all. E

Sounds good to me! Colorado is really that bad. Are they? Had a nice run of 9 consecutive losses. Which luckily, I bet the opposite in real life. Letting it ride, day (by) day (by) day... A 5 figure withdrawl check is in the mail to me! "Thanx" SBR/LT for the great contest! ![]() |

7:05PM (EST) 904 Philadelphia Phillies Myers lost his fourth straight start as he went six innings and allowed four runs on eight hits in a 4-3 defeat at Houston. Myers threw a season-high four walks and tied his season low with only two strikeouts. |

I'm gonna continue to ride the White Sox. Contreras has always pitched remarkably well against TB-- and they're having a solid season, though receiving less acclaim than the Rays. I simply think that they're undervalued here. |

They say missouri loves company! Both teams are in a funk; I'm hoping it's the home team that does something about it. Meche's best start of this season was against the Indians. Ironically, KC won the two so far this year in CLE, and CLE won the three in KC. How long can that home team losing stuff keep up between these two clubs? Good luck everybody! |
