    Jose Reyes' career is over

he has nothing left. was clearly on HGH or some anabolic steroid. he looks like he doesn't belong on a major league field. how long before he gets benched or traded?

i think you need to look at his stats and games played from 05-08. he played in 150+ games for 4 yrs straight, almost 200 hits/yr, 60+ stolen bases, 10-20 HR, 60-80 RBI, 100+ runs, great defense, and fired the team up. now he's worthless.

And you basing this on grand total of 6 games ?? after missing most of the last 10 months with an injury?

he was overated before the injury, and this is coming from a mets fan!

he was sort of overrated, but he still has good years ahead of hit

expect 90 runs, 270s, 8 HR, 50 RBI, MUCH less steals (~20/yr)...decent for a shortstop...

I guess that depends on what you mean by "overrated" , He is a quality player, an above average hitter especially for a SS and a decent fielder. He may not be an MVP type player, but pretty much any other team would be blessed to have him.

that vastly unrealistic ... if anyone is expecting that type of player to post a 400 obp, they are only setting themselves up for disappointment - only about 10 guys in all of baseball manage a 400 OBP.

if this was a typical slow start it would be one thing, but there's no energy...nothing...he missed a whole year with weird injuries, then couldnt even start the year playing because of a thyroid problem (obvious steroid use). the guy was juiced up and now he's worth nothing.

i am truely amazed at how stupid this thread is.. he was out from last may untill mid april this year, you then claim his careers over after a slow start on like 30 at bats, and while he was overratedd even in 06 he still catalyzed there offense. btw a stat was showed today on reyes splits in mets wins vs losses, hitting over .300 in wins hitting like .180 in losses, he is clearly crucial to there sucess, and no energy???? did u not see him on the 2 walkoff homers, his spring training was basically april now he is starting his season. He may be overrated but he will still steal 40-50 bases this year, end up hitting like .280 and score near 100 runs.

lol i'm referring to the energy he brings to the game as a player not as a cheerleader after the game is over.

we'll see what his final numbers are, but he's a below avg shortstop.

they are 30 games into the season and people are still making excuses that he's missed time. what a joke. he's shown no improvement.

i still don't see how people think this guy is going to be OK. he wasn't THAT good when he was all juiced up. now that he's off the juice he's worth nothing. he asked for a day off earlier this year, his body is shot.

    he will rebound

no he's not a top 10 player, but he's a good solid SS and a better shortstop than most teams have.

he starts the season slow so all of a sudden his career is over? Talk about a huge overreaction.
