August System Plays
Final July results:
46-39-1 +1.01 units
There are gonna be several system tweaks, unforunately I'm still not done analyzing the data. When its all done, system plays will vary from 0.5 units to 5 units. Run Lines on some favorites are also being added. I haven't completely decided the criteria for them, yet I'm using 2 of them tonight, go figure.

I'm trying to hang in there with the totals, I think this system has potential with them. They are about .500 (- money) since mid-May starting Aug, and are 0-4 so far in August, gonna stick with them for now, may drop them to 0.5 units soon.

Well, it uses alot of stats that are thrown into a formula I've created that generates an expected score. Today for example the formula (which uses OPS against as the main pitcher stat) generated the following final score:
Los Angeles Dodgers: 5.49
St. Louis Cardinals: 3.65
That is enough of an advantage at -125 for it to be considered a play.
The total of the 2 ratings 9.14 fall within the range of the vegas total of 8.5 so the total is no play.
In August I've added other criteria (the size of the advantage relative to the line, whether there is a significant advantage on both the hitting and pitching sides of the formula, and the given line of the team that is the play) that decide the magniude of the play. The system is still being developed, but I am betting it as a work in progress....

Thanks fifa, yes Kuroda's road OPS against was a significant factor in the system calculations, the overall matchup still came up as a play on the Dodgers at -140.
