I see A LOT of people jumping on Philly (with Oswalt) as a +120 DOG tonight in San Diego. Their reasoning is that Philly is really really really really due to break out of their slump. Oh...and Oswalt is a good pitcher.

I have a few problems with this:

#1 Why not just wait UNTIL THEY ACTUALLY DO BREAK OUT OF IT before putting money on them.
#2 Latos is a fantastic pitcher. What makes you think they will hit Latos, when they only scored 7 runs total in 4 games against Bud Norris, J.Happ, Wandy Rodriguez, and Brett Myers....in the hitters paradise in Philly?!?!
#3 San Diego is a damn good team. And they are 38-23 at home. While Philly is UNDER .500 on the road.

I am staying away from this game...I think you should too!

i dont see why anyone would bet on philly tonight. they sucked ass all week, plus Latos is a better pitcher this season than Oswalt.

Me too **! I rather just enjoy my home team playing the Phills like a natural game day.
Latos lost his last start against the Phills in Philly but with a 3 ER in that game, meaning he did not get any run support. And after yesterday's huge lost, it looks like the Padres bat are getting cold again. But either way, this time we have home field advantage so you never know.
I'm guessing that both Oswalt and Latos will get a no decision.

They moved Latos out of the rotation last week so he could skip a start to start this game. I guess it means a lot as the Padres dont wanna lose some ground to the Giants who are 5 games back and the Phillies don't want to lose more ground on the Giants in the Wild Card. This game requires low bets if your gonna bet.

Are you kidding? It's the best time to jump on the Phils. You get in when everyone gets out. Oswalt has a terrible record, not completely his fault. Look at his career w/l. He is due for a string of wins.

Latos has the best stats in runs allowed IMO than any other starter in both leagues
