Frank Thomas of the Chicago White Sox retired today and will be up for Hall of Fame eligibility in 2014...most believe he will have no problem getting in due to the huge numbers he put up. The White Sox are also retiring his number.

I'm not so sure he belongs in the hall. It's been a long time since he's been a dominant player. Although at least he was never accused of taking steroids, so that's a plus in comparison to his contemporaries.

The guy was great. After his divorce he seemed to struggle off and on.
An easy choice for the HF.

Awesome Hitter, got a raw deal from the Sox in 05 and basically missed out on the entire WS season. Was the best hitter in baseball in 93-94. His last few years he was a total joke though, can't believe he wasn't retired last year, what was he doing, thinking he was getting more valuable with age?

Went to A's/Rangers series a couple of years ago specifically to see Frank Thomas and he didnt even make the road trip so that was a bummer. Damn good player and first ballot guy.

Only MLB player that spoke to the Mitchell investigation. His time in Toronto wasn't very good but he certainly is a sure hof'er.

Sad to see one of the greatest hitters leaving the game. He has my vote for the first ballot Hall of Fame.

About 10 years ago or so when I was pretty little I got to meet him after a spring traning game and he was a really nice guy. I coulnd't believe how big he was especially standing next to this little kid. I have always like him since then.

I've got an unopened Frank Thomas Starting Lineup figure from the early '90s packed away somewhere.

Guy was a disgrace in his final year. Should have retired a few years earlier. Rumor has it that a fan in Dunedin got into his head so badly at every home Spring Training game in 2008 that he really started to doubt himself. This fan was ruthless, yelling at Frank every AB and telling him that Ozzie Guillen was right about him.

The Big Hurt was the man. Should be an easy 1 ballot HOF'er.
