Hey guys...it was brought up in a different thread here...but I was just wondering how much interest there would be in a fantasy baseball league full of us SBRers. I was thinking we could just do a standard week to week head to head match up style league...and then we could do like a 25 point entry thing for like 10 teams or so??

Basically...if you're interested...reply in this thread...and add a comment or question if you have one...if there is enough interest...I will start one up...and then we'll have to have people post up the points first, then I'll get the password to you guys. I have no problem running a league, as I like the long-term mental investments...

At any rate, reply in this thread with interest or questions. Let's get something going this year!

Few Questions and/or Concerns:

Website: Here, Yahoo, ESPN??? ( I too would be willing to run anything, I enjoy ESPN because you get to control the homepage so much and I like writing previews and stuff

# of Players: 10? 12? 14? (I like 12 the most... shows your true ability)

Type: Like you said Head to head weekly, Rotissiere? Keeper even? (Keeper would be great for a researching strategy... If someone wasn't interested to come back we are in the best place to get a replacement owner for the following year??

Entry Fee: 25 is fine, but the more points the more incentive to research and work hard the whole year? just a thought???

OK I sent a lot at you guys, but I am just really excited, I love Fantasy Baseball... I won my money league last year for the first time and I'm so excited for this coming year!!!

Untiltheendoftime and myself along with 1-2 other SBR's play in the same fantasy pay leagues year round $105 buy-in. Last year we had a solid 12 team baseball league even though I came in 11th it was a solid group of players who don't quit all year.

If any spots open up I'll let ya know.

MLB...ESPN is just as effective as Yahoo...I guess it just depends on who is all interested and a vote from there on. 12 would be an ideal number of people...but from the looks of it, we will have to wait and see how many we get interested!
Let's see how many we have...and go from there...so far, the number is 3!

I personally don't like espn's site. CBS is great but you usually have to pay for it. Yahoo made some big changes this year including free live scoring.

Sounds like we definitely will have enough for a league...I can get something set up on Yahoo, and then we can discuss time of draft and those things...I'll be setting something up in the next couple days...those of you who are wanting to join (myself included)...we need to start planning for those 25 points too...if we all want to get in...it would be great if we could have all the points in for all 10 or 12 teams before our draft.

Up to 9 people now...remember...ideally, we'd like to set something up where we can everyone to put in their 25 points before we draft...so if you are on the list above...plan on giving the 25 points pre-draft!

Yeah...it looks like most of us will have points already...I have like 90 in the sportsbook right now too...I'm thinking Yahoo is the best in my opinion...especially if they did actually add free live scoring this year!

I think Yahoo has the best platform. I had not heard that live scoring was going to be free this year. That's fantastic.

Good luck in getting the league together boys. I tried desperaatly here to get a pay league going the last 2 years and have had little luck, but for points you boys may be good.

im interested if its 12 teams , with only 1 catcher, i would do ci and mi, and 5 outfield, but prefer one of each spot, 3 o and 2 utiltiy, added holds is a fun category too

It looks like we are close to 12 now...it sounds like Yahoo will be the choice...they haven't opened there 2010 platform yet...but when they do, I'll create the league, then when we send points I'll give you the password. I have no problem being the bank for this, I've been here for almost 2 years now and I'm not going anywhere...
Once get to my real computer instead of using my phone I can get a total count and add names to the list.

It looks like we are 12 now guys...if your name is on this list and you don't want to do it...please, tell us now so we can get you off...as soon as Yahoo opens their leagues...I'll start the league, and then we will have a "transfer points in order to confirm" period of about a week or so...then, anyone who hasn't posted up will have their spot open to anyone who can transfer points...so, the waiting list will be below as well.
