Default How do you think the Mets will do this year?

The Mets are usually good in the beginning of the season and then they choke...do you think this will happen again? I sure hope not..

Nope, they always find a way not to make the playoffs.

i dont think they have enough pitching to win the NL East. but with their offense back (beltran, reyes, delgado), i think they will contend for the NL wild card

I'd look for David Wright to have a surge this year..he's the kind of player who steps up when his team needs him. I'm calling last year's power deficiency a fluke.

With Manuel still the manager we will battle the Nats for last place and I think the Nats beat us this year. Welcome home basement Bertha. Nice pick up on Bay we have no starting pitching they go spend the money on a 265 hitter lol. Lackey would have been a nice gift.

That would be a new low for sure...Manuel fired for sure in that scenario. Take the under for season wins total?

After Johan in the rotation, there isn't much. They need another starter.

Pitching rotation is Santana coming off an injury followed by a couple of head cases (Pelfrey, Perez) and question marks (Maine, #5?).

Lineup is a crowd of guys coming off of injuries (Wright, Reyes, Francoeur) and currently injured (Beltran) and just waiting to be injured (Bay).

I'm not overly impressed with Molina, if they sign him, and the talk about them having interest in Delgado (supposedly moving like a cripple in winter ball) makes me queasy...

They should have gone with a rebuilding plan - at least then they would be competitive in a couple years.

    They're a 4th place team if they're lucky.

They are such a mess, there's no way to figure it. Does Beltran and Reyes come back 100%? Do you get 100 games out of Delgado? The pitching is so weak, they're talking about bringing Pedro Martinez back??

They're done and so is Minaya.

Molina turned down their recent offer

    Beltrans hurt

Not much pitching behind Johan who is coming off an injury himself

    Jerry Manuel

I'm not optimistic about them in what I think is a pretty good division besides the nats

Mets suck ... and will continue to suck until they get a new look about them.. they are stuck with the "choke" image with all of these players who aren't capable of leading a team deep

I am a Mets fan and the offseason was just as bad as the regular season. Beltran will miss the first month of the season. Reyes will probably get hurt at some point with his legs again. No solid pitcher behind Santana. The power numbers should improve this year over last season with the addition of Bay. If they fail again this season to make the playoffs expect major changes and big names to be traded.

88-74 - In a battle for the wildcard. They have a #1 starter and a bunch of 3/4 starters, good offense if healthy

I totally agree. He is definitely a strong player and one that the Met's can count on. He is a nice guy too. I have hung out with him before.

They obviously will win more than 5 games this upcoming season. I dont think they have ever not won more than 5 games. There are 162 games in a season, if they only won 5 games, they would not be able to be in pros or they would def not be in the top of the National League...come on

ageee with that .... 5 wins is a little steep but they will get it .. I think

well they just signed jason bay but i dont think thats gonna help them much. the only problem the mets have is they start the season hot and then have some player injuries that ends up taking them down, so i would say if they have healthy players this season coming up then i think they will do decent.
