    Smile No Rainouts Here

This is the place for our M.L.B. season. Here is a link to last year's thread,
    http://forum.sbrforum.com/baseball-h...-b-thread.html

Here are the results from last season.
    1H: 381-354-9, 51.8%, +136.24 units
    Reg Sea: 621-587-10, 51.41%, +$28,306.26

Try to remember previous success does not guarantee future results as each season is different.

As a reminder, keep the thread PG13 clean. Don't use vague terms to define your wagers (small, medium, heavy, etc) use units or amount but if you go the amount route, let people know how many units that is. There is no slamming of any poster in this thread - if you feel the need, make a thread outside this one so the flow will be easier to follow and read. Lastly, keep an up to date record of your action.

Good luck to all this season.

    Here are last year's symbols:

Plankton grows on the bottom of boats and is present before
algae arrives. Another way to state that is that plankton is first and
algae is second. For here, the refers to the team to score
    first.

Dolphins are wonderful creatures that have the ability to
look down upon the water from with they came. As such for here they
    mean "over".

Sharks are notorious in water creatures and rarely get
above water level. As such, I think of them as under plays.

This replaces the and is for runs scored in the first
    inning.

Don't look for the orcawhale to often but when it's posted
you know it's a very large play.

Boats are used for various functions but one of the things
that's always common is it completes it's journey. In baseball the
closest thing would be a series.

Swimming is a lot of fun be it a pool, river, lake, ocean
or gulf. If one were to do the free-style/crawl stroke, it looks like
the person is waving to you. As such, the waving is "good bye" and
is used for passing on a game.

The dollar sign is one unit either risked or for reward
if the wager is correct. Two dollar signs, means two units; etc.

The bag of money is just that, a good sized wager against/for
ten units. Two bags, would mean twenty units; etc.

Running man is the closest I could find to represent the
run line. If the or are used before it, this means
-1' runs. If the is used before it, this would mean +1' runs.

Party cloudy in the real world means, some sunshine and some
clouds. In other words a day with some, not all, sunshine. For wagering
purposes, one would be for the first half and two
would be for the second half of the game.

No problem just wanted everyone to know from the onset what last season's symbols were.

Too many threads are nothing but "black", so I add a little color to the mix plus it saves time and yes I do.

Just family issues that took far longer than thought. Thanks for the concern, e-mail, etc and looking forward toward your input this season.

Nothing wrong with reading and hope you didn't find it to boring of a read. I play several systems based on a number of factors for each one but post only one of the methods. In simplest terms, I take variables/data and give weight to each factor and run the numbers through the equation to get a number. Do the same of the other team, look at the results and then the chart to determine what, if any, wager(s) will be made for that game.

Thank you, just remember, you are liable for your finances win/lose. Following the above process to the letter daily. Some days we win, others we loses but we always move forward and hopefully learn/remember what worked and failed.

Welcome Boner_18 and look forward to your input during the season. We share the wealth here - can't say that about other places/threads - and most times game info is posted in plenty time. If the books start hurting the lines, the times will vary. Let's get it done!

    Good afternoon stinkyhitler,

Hopefully you and others will like and enjoy this season's thread. Most times there is at least one play but as you saw there are times when there are over 10 games in play for the day.

    Good evening jhack704,

Don't try to judge the season on only one portion - it includes Spring Training games to the World Series.

what is an average play as in money? what would be the largest amount you would put on one game?

If I recall from poking around in last year's thread, TA's largest bet was 50 units or around there. Some serious coin

But for the most part, a few units per game is average for him.

Don't know how many of you have looked at the Pennant futures, but there are some interesting numbers:

For the N.L. the Dodgers +800 stands out to me. This squad looks fantastic for 2010 and it seems strange to me that they are ranked so far behind the Phillies (+250)

For the A.L. I think two teams to watch out for are the Mariners and the Twins (both +1000). If the Twins pitching holds and their bullpen stays decent, they have a shot. The Mariners are the opposite. Their lineup needs to produce to help out that outstanding staff of theirs. I know it's really easy to pick the Yankees, but I have doubts that they will produce the same success as last year. Jeter, among others, is getting old and the pressure to repeat is mounting.

Since is on halt for the one of the things I plan on doing is sorting stats and seeing if a futures' ticket or two is worth the risk.
