    I think you have to break catchers down to two categories receiving and offense. I think their main job is managing the pitchers/ game situations/ calling pitches which go into the receiving category and their secondary job is offensive production. When looking at the best catchers they excel at both. My vote is Johnny Bench. Piazza definitly the best offensively though.

    I go with Johnny Bench first and Carlton Fisk a very close second. Tough to chose between the two though.
