I really like the yankees in this position. I think it's a HUGE mistake by the phils not to start Lee here.

That said, -169 is a lot to lay so I think I'll lay 2units on -169 and 2 units on the RL -110. What are everyone else's thoughts on this game?

I'm expecting CC to have another good game so it's tough for me to bet the o/u here as well. I did take 1.5 units on no run in the 1st just for fun as well...

and that's only due to huge burden this is on CC, taking the ball with short rest with THIS amount of PRESSURE is gonna factor in sooner or later.......and the extra huge home crowd push they'll get tonight, half of their fans will be super drunk from the Eagles game, crossing the street


however if this game goes to extra innings... most of those fans will be too drunk or out cold to make a difference and I give the edge to the yanks

Chi_archie, I dont disagree with the value argument. -169 is high, however +149 I didn't feel was enough value in a situation like this (cc vs blanton). I really look at this as a significant mismatch in pitching. I still don't understand not starting Lee here. I understand the short rest deal but this is the WS. This is a must win for the phillies in my opinion now AT HOME. Start Lee here AND in game 7 otherwise, good luck getting to a game 7.

That said, I think you're also right about the drunk factor. After the Eagles whooped up on the Giants you KNOW that town is blind stinkin drunk right now. No chance they make it past the 3rd inning! This is philly we're talking about, half of em are drunk and throwing up in an alley, the other half are fighting with each other or locked up after the fight....

The sad part is, I'm rooting for the phillies for the series, but because of this move, I think I'm in trouble...

I think people under-estimate how hard it is to throw 100+ pitches with 3 days rest... let alone doing it after you've been throwing every 5th day for 7 months.

Atlantic, I like the bet. Unfortunately my book doesn't have the option otherwise I'd be all over it. I'd like to bet able to be the over here but that comes down to Chi_archie's point... pitching on short rest. I think the yankees can put up some runs against Blanton but if CC pitches like he did earlier in the series Philly could have a hard time matching it... However, if Chi_archie's point holds true and CC's stuff isn't sharp due to lack of rest, the over could have quite a bit of value at 8.5.... matter of fact, I think I just talked myself into the over for 1 unit!
