So who was the better all around starting pitcher for their career?

    Greg Maddux
    or
    Pedro Martinez

Not going to throw stats around for now, both are eye popping and staggering.

    Who had the better career?

Maddux definitely had the better career. Pedro's dominance didn't last long enough.

But both are their absolute best, I would take Pedro.

Pedro as his peak was a force of nature but unfortunately his peak was relatively short, Maddux was great over a much longer period of time, I'd take Maddux.

I know you don't want stats and etc, but I do want to point this out and I just felt this is a biggie..

15 wins 17 years in a row is unheard of...

a RIGHTIE who doesn't throw 90MPH who played the entire decade of "steroid era" with his era IS UNHEARD Of..

He just brought a whole different approach to pitching..

That change up, smarts, and precision control with insane movement and good work ethics is more then enough to get you to become a hall of famer even when "others are cheating" (sterioid era) is a feat of it's own I believe..

Maddux 15 wins in 17 consecutive seasons. Pinpoint control. Definition of STEADY. Pedro had bigger moments but I'll always take the more reliable player and that's Greg Maddux

probably maddux but i'd take pedro in his prime.

i remember that allstar game where pedro struck out the first three batters with 9 pitches or something like that...

    Two great pitchers for sure.

Loved how Maddux fielded his position.
