Default Mr. Crumbs Leans for Saturday 5/23/09

Nice Orioles hit yesterday. So nice I had to do it twice. The kid Uehara has exceptional stuff and has not been rewarded with wins to match. He will pick up a win in this one which I predict will be a slugfest with the "Hot Wood" award going to the Orioles winning by three. Teams that have a long losing streak and then finally snap it usually win another one. Break out the brooms. The O's may sweep this team. They have the superior bats.

Orioles-1.5 +125 NO PLAY as of 12:05pm pst ******* Reverse movement

As I stated on Dexters' thread yesterday, the Royals should be favored in this game because of all the intangibles. The Cardinals are flying high on a good win streak, and this game on paper looks like a celebration in waiting. Hochevar for his part is putrid, but he is on limited pitch count anyway, so I don't expect him to last too long anyway. He does have good stuff as evidenced by his AAA numbers, and he is in line for a correction in this game. At least the Cardinals hitters have never seen his pitching before. So by the time they get it figured out, the Royals may be up by 3 runs, because Lohse is a home run waiting to happen. Jose Guillen is tearing the stuffing off the ball. Betta not be anybody on when he comes up. Lohse is throwing grapefruits. C'mon, man. A guy with a era of almost 5 does not deserve to be anything more than a -110 pitcher

Royals+140 HEAVY
Royals-1.5 RRL No line yet

Now that Lackey has gotten past all of the bullshit he is thumbs up to be the warhorse that he is. Matter of fact he can be ridden for the rest of the season. He's that good. The Dodgers have no business being favored in this game.

Angels+115

As I am typing this, the Giants and the Mariners are going to extra innings, but anyway, I love Cain. He is a battling S.O.B. I say that he keeps the G-Men in the game. The Giants are one of those teams that you have to watch out for in interleague play. They have the look and smell of a chicken dinner. I'm rubbing my hands together thinking of this one.

Giants +110 HEAVY

The total of the day goes to the Oakland A's and Arizona D-Backs. Neither one of these teams really have any offense to speak of and Haren is the real thing. He pounds the zone and his ball is described as heavy. I see this game as a 4-2 game. The total came out at 8 and a whopping 89% of the public jumped on the over for this game. Then the line dropped to 7.5 with only the precious few 11% on the under like me. This is a night game and the coliseum is not a home run haven even when it's sunny, let alone at night. There is a lot of foul ground and the air out here today is thick and overcast.

A's/D-Backs under 7.5 HEAVY

Red Sox to cover the runline......Without Reyes and Delgado i don't see the Mets doing much against Beckett....I think that win in Seattle is the start of a hot streak for Beckett....

You make a good case for the Angels man...Might have to think about that one too...

early pick:
TX...Feldmann is just pitching great so far...he has yet to give up a HR as a starter this year...he will probably only give TX 6 Innings, but they should be solid...Moehler also improved, but he has a 4.63 lifetime ERA against TX...so even if both starters pitch a nice 6 Innings or so and only allow 2 or 3 runs each (wouldnt surprise me)...Houston's bullpen is just horrible as of late...

I dont know if I tail ck with his KC pick...his last few heavy plays pretty much all hit and today you can get KC for +140 or better...plus this kid for KC today was great in AAA this year with an 0.90 ERA and 5 wins, so he knows how to pitch...add in that Lohse was great in April and only medicore at best in May...add in that KC plays pretty well in STL ...add in that KC needs a win here to stay above .500... add in that they were shutout yesterday... hell...the more I think I like that play ck...and it would be a nice way to start the day...

Saturday-

under lakers 211 (5x) - last 5 games in denver have averaged 196ppg.

over yankees 11 - warm summmer afternoon in the bronx should see balls flying out with 2 average arms on the bump. phillies are 9-3 vs lefties, so i expect them to take care of pettite, while the hot yankee bats should beat up the rookie on a center stage (fox game).

redsox -1.5/+100 (3x) - beckett seems to be slowly rounding back into form, and i'll back the boston ace off his teams loss at + money on the runline. beckett also has a career 2.50/1.07 vs the mets in 13 starts. mets are missing their engine in reyes today.

a's +1.5/-120 (Autobet - 2x) - with the game total at 7.5, i will play the dog on the runline at a good price.

yes, i had this play on the fence - but the tigers are smoking red hot right now. marquis is a great road pitcher in 09 (dont just look at how he did last game peter) but im going to hold off on this one for now - perhaps add it later if the redsox play wins.

Hey CK how's it going?
After a horrible week all around especially in baseball for me, I hope I can turn it around.

What about Hochevar at 0-1 with a 16.88 ERA? WTF?! I will tail you on this one if you don't mind.
The Royals are at +1.5 @ -150 at my book right now. As a SU pick they are as you mentioned @ +140.

Any thoughts on the Cubbies or Rockies finally picking up a win today? Seems like Colorado and Detroit have a couple average pitchers on the mound today. The over/under is at 10 in this one.

CK,
I'm gonna be on that Giants play as well.... Giants can't score but neither can Seattle... Seattle is averaging 2 runs per game over their last four.. When a team is struggling that bad, there really is no home field advantage.... We will see how it goes but I may play this one strong...

Booked:

I played this small, but I like it.... Yankees winning streak is broken and many times a team will drop the next one and at this price with the Phillies who have won 7 of their last 8.... Hello! Give me them crumbs too!

Booked:

Phillies +145
Phillies -1.5 +210

Here's an interesting stat for ya,

Florida are 4-17 in their last 21 games vs. a right-handed starter.
Florida are 0-6 in their last 6 interleague games vs. a right-handed starter.
Florida are 1-10 in their last 11 home games vs. a right-handed starter.

You think Florida has a problem hitting against righties?

Balt -130 Orioles are playing in front of their home crowd on the road! Bring out the Brooms like CK said!

Cubs -105 Time to break the streaks in this one.

Tex RL +135- These bats are ready to explode again, and they are playing in the Juicer known as Minute Maid Park. Kinsler's Bat may hit 2 round trippers tonight! Give me the Rangers.

UPSET PICK #1
Phillies +145 - They go ahead and wrap up the series today against the Yanks. Good team getting a lot of crumbs

UPSET PICK #2
KC +140 - Ok I am tailing CK on this one. I have lost my big plays the last two nights (Halladay, Lincecum) so last night I was looking at rebounding with a big play on STL. Since CK is going the other way I've decided to fade myself on this one and go with the ROYALS!!!!

The Mets are up to +180 now on BetJam. It was intriguing when I saw it last night at +165. It's getting downright hard to pass up at this price. Pelphrey ain't that bad. And Beckett ain't that good.

I'm gonna add the A's/D-Backs under 7.5 as well. It is a beautifully crafted pick. I hope that it hits! I'm gonna go HEAVY on it...

Haren is the real deal and the A's bats are cold as the weather today
