8.17.12: Nationals Team Total Over 4 [-135]
Nats are next in line to beat up Johan Santana. Santana has been rancid in his last four starts, giving up 27 earned runs. On the road, his ERA is 5.36. In his nine road starts, only once has the opposition not scored at least five runs. Washington has at least four runs in eight of their last ten overall. The quicker they get Santana out, the better as the bullpen for NY sports a 5.10 ERA.

Cardinals Team Total Over 4 (-130)
James McDonald for Pittsburgh. He has gone six straight starts allowing at least four runs. His road ERA is 4.99. He has given up four runs or more in six of seven on the road. The Pirates have given up at least five in ten straight games.

Mariners Team Total Over 4 [-105]
Nick Blackburn for the Twins, you know where to go. His road ERA is a robust 7.98. Of his nine road starts, seven have seen the opposition go for at least four runs. Overall, 16 of 18 starts have seen the opposition get at least four runs. Ms struggled against great Rays pitching, this is a chance for them to rebound.

8.18.12: Rangers Team Total Under 4.5 [+105]
Texas has struggled at times to score runs on the road and they are in that form right now with just six runs in four games on this trip outside of the one explosion against the Yankees for ten runs. So four of their last five on this road trip and six of their last eight overall, they have failed to score at least five runs. Carlos Villanueva goes for Toronto. Since he became a full time starter, he has made eight starts and just twice has the opponent scored five or more. Villanueva has not given up more than four runs in any start. He's pitching for a spot in the rotation next season, so his effort level should be solid for the rest of the year. I think the key is getting a strong 6-7 innings from him to keep the bullpen out of the picture as long as possible.

Tigers Team Total Over 5 [-125]
Zach Britton for Baltimore. He has been getting lit up regularly in his five starts this season. He has given up at least four runs in four of those starts and six runs or more in three straight. Detroit has scored five or better in three straight have scored five or more in three of four against the O's this season.

Cardinals Team Total Over 4.5 [+100]
Cards absolutely rake lefties at home to the tune of .306. Bedard goes for Pittsburgh and he has seen the opponents score at least five in six of his last seven road starts. He has three starts against STL this season, giving up seven runs in 9.2 IP on the road in two starts and three runs in one home start. In two of three, the Cards finished with five runs. STL has been a little up & down lately scoring runs, but with Lynn starting - one of the best run supported pitchers in MLB this season - take a chance on this one. 14 of his 23 starts have seen STL support him with at least five runs.

Hefner for the Mets. He's started six games and four of them have seen the opposition score at least five by the end of the game. Nats have seen him twice already, so hopefully they know what he is all about now. In both those starts, Washington scored five runs.

Hot offense is mostly where I am going with this one. Rays scored 37 runs in the four game series against the Angels. They have now scored four or better in 10 of their last 13. Will Smith for KC. He has been pretty solid. Nine starts, five of them have seen the opposition score at least four.

8.21.12: Braves Team Total Over 3 [-105]
Strasburg is obviously tough as nails, but the Braves have been a big weakness for him over the past two seasons. In three starts against ATL in 2012, Strasburg has given up eleven runs in 20.1 IP against them. Only one of four starts vs. ATL has seen the Braves score less than three. Seven of his eleven home starts have seen the opposition score at least three runs. In six career starts, Strasburg sports a 4.70 ERA against the Braves. McCann, Ugla & Heyward are a combined 18 of 37 against him.

Looked @ both. Lean over, but Bailey has really good road #s for Cincy & the Sox scare.me from a consistency standpoint. Santana has pitched better lately, but between bhim and the bullpen five has been do-able for most teams still. I would probably take that over the Phils, but again not excited about either.
