Humber has settled down after the national attention his perfect game created. I think he gets a quality start here and enough offense for the win. The Twinkies are calling up a 6 year minor leaguer who is 1-4 with an over 4 ERA in AAA ball this year. He is only getting the call up due to the fact that Marquis and Liriano are no longer serviceable as MLB starting pitchers. The Twins starting pitching is dreadful and they are forced to serve up their farm boys as sacrificial lambs.

Pick #2 Seattle Mariners -102 1 unit

Seattle has the hotter bats and the momentum. I look for them to come out early and touch up Haren in the first few innings. Haren has good #'s against the Mariners but he's not the same this year. Angels offense is inconsistent and struggling on this long road trip. 20 runs in the last 6 road games.

Thanks Nash! Headed to Vegas this weekend for UFC 146. We have a Game 7 in the NBA, big hockey game tonight (and hopefully another game 7 Sunday), and the start of the Spurs/OKC series. Plenty of opportunity for profit! At first glance, I like the Blue Jays and Morrow, I'm hoping to get them better than +120 but with the Rangers' recent struggles, I don't know. Also like Cueto and the Reds. Will post my picks after a little more digging.

Pick #4 Oakland A's -115 1 unit

Once again, going with the more accomplished pitcher here. Parker gave up 2 ER's or less in 5 of his last 6 starts. The only reason I'm not betting more units on this one is because of how horrible the A's offense is. They are in the cellar in almost every batting category in the American League. Conversely, their relief pitching is up with the Rangers' and O's as some of the best in the AL. In a close game (which I believe it will be) I will take the better starting pitcher and the better bullpen. The Twins continue to have the worst starting pitching ERA in the American League and they field a defense that is bad news bears-ish. They have only won back to back games twice this season and I don't believe they make it a third in this game. Capps has pitched over his head this year, he's due for a bunch more blown saves. The starting pitcher for the Twins is a local boy who grew up in the cities and played ball for the University of Minnesota. He kicked it around in the minors for 6 years and is making his first start at Target Field. This may turn out to be a good story, but I see him having a rough outing. His AAA numbers before getting called up were not impressive. I faded him his first MLB start, he went 5 innings with 3ER 6 hits, 1 BB, 4 K's and a 2:1 Fly ball to ground ball ratio. I believe he left the game with the lead and the Twins' bullpen got shelled in a loss. Wind is supposed to be blowing out at 15MPH tomorrow.
