CK - are you making system plays? Or are you waiting until May 1?

well, with the d-backs game coming earlier than i realized, i was lucky enough to miss out on that wager putting me at 2-1 with the one coming on an opening day streak breaking performance by C-Zam (however i was properly warned of his dominance against the stros, just picked the wrong trend to ride) Nevertheless, that loss sets me up for my favorite play today, that being on wandy and the stros. Still not convinced that dempster can replicate last year, either way he should scuffle a little. Meanwhile, in addition to dominating at home, wandy's stats have improved every year for the last 3, a sign of an improving pitcher and one i will selectively play this year. Coming off a home loss in the opener with the public fading me here, now's a perfect time

    HOU ML

while snell is a talented kid, i like the cards too much to think they don't respond to yesterdays slip up. lohse was a big anchor for them last year as they played very well at home. Gotta go with the revenge run line theory for contenders over pretenders (personal hypothesis). Run line money has shot down from about +150 to +130... may be on to something

    STL -1.5

cahill is making his first start, but mosely has yet to impress. The A's have now dropped their last 5 opening day games, however prior to this year, they won 4 of 5 times in the second game (the other time dropping 2 straight and winning the third). They have a chance to hit the angels while their staff is weak, so whether cahill comes out strong or oakland just takes this one on the merits of their bats, i think they get it done here (and if not some how, i double up on them tomorrow). pretty heavy RLM in this game going from +115 ish to -105 ish for the A's

    OAK ML

MAY fire on the braves 1st 5 still, but i'm holding for now as i really like those 3 plays

yeah, but both of those could be seen from a mile away (imho)... CC has not been a big game pitcher thus far in his career, especially bad in the playoffs and any pitcher that goes to the yankees struggles early if not all together (too much pressure for non-pressure pitchers).

While lee had never put together a year like last year in his 5 year career and got SHELLED in spring training.

lincecum has better stuff, and more composure than either of those two.

in my 3 fantasy leagues not once did i even consider CC or Lee. Expecting let downs from both here and so far they're making me look good

I understand that, but both were away games....this is home for G-Men.

Lincecum and G-Men win this one

Hey CK........I know that you aren't playing your system plays until May 1st.......my question is this.

You laid out a certain criteria on certain pitchers.......do those wait until May 1st to get played as well?

If not.....it seems like you would be on the Rays, the Pirates, and the Rockies, as well as your Brewers pick.

Is this correct sir? Or do these wait until May 1st as well?

    Prop of the Day:

Basically, I think Lincecum's start is keeping this line down far enough to make a move based on value.

    Brewers/Giants over 24 runs/hits/errors

    Also booked:

    Milwaukee +151

    Colorado/Arizona under 9

    LA Dodgers -112

    Philly/Charlotte over 185

    Orlando/Houston under 187

    Two chump change parlays:

    958] HOU +104 ( ACTION )
    [968] MIN -107 ( ACTION )
    [970] TOTAL u9EV (OAK vrs LAA) ( T CAHILL -R / D MOSELEY -R )
[664] TOTAL u187-110 (ORLANDO vrs HOUSTON)

    [951] MIL +151 ( ACTION )
    [954] PHI -110 ( ACTION )
    [974] BOS -1½+150 ( J SHIELDS -R / J BECKETT -R )

Wang is good but if he doesn't get the ball down, he'll get shelled. It's not like the Yankees have faced Uehara before. The Orioles RL might be a good play. I bet it will be at + money again if it is.

orioles run line +105 tomorrow. i am fading the yankees every game this season, there has been a lot on these boards about such a wager and it looks good unless they win more than 96 games.

buehrle out of the game, he went 5.0 and gave up 2. meche with a very efficient 65 pitches through 5 innings

Cocknocker, sorry if i'm late to the party, but what is your standard wager in terms of units? Thanks.

solo, thanks for confirming that. I actually think the Orioles RL will go up tomorrow. People will be pounding the Yankees like they did yesterday when CC was on the mound.

Solo, I was considering playing that as a system myself, just fade the Yanks every game. I'm definitely going to do it every game they are big favourites. I'm not sure they'll reach 96 wins, the AL East is too tuff. O's are getting better, Jays even with the pitching losses aren't a terrible club, and then Boston and Tampa, even if Tampa drops off, they are still a tough out.

About for nothing, but when I read your piece and it mentioned what might or might not "translate" from ST, I was thinking that Texas and KC offences did show majorly up on OD, might be worth a continuing glance? More trends from ST prolonged yesternight?

Over with no outs in the bottom of the fourth, you gotta love that!!

Now, the Brew Crew needs to win this slugfest and cash us a bunch of tickets...

so sammy with your logic, any "top 5 pitcher in the MLB" will win, right?
besides the result, game still going on...looks like Benching Suppan was smart.

Both sucked, but Lincecum was a little better.

Finish it up G-Men up 7-5 in 6th

these plays were posted in the nba thread last night - didnt reailize ck was playing baseball.

    mlb-

mark buehrle has always been a solid april pitcher the last 3 years with an era/whip of 3.30/1.12. the whitesox are also 15-3 in home games hes started vs kc. last year buehrle beat the royals in both home starts giving up a solid 3er in 14ip. meche on the flip side has been below avg in april the last 3 years with a 4.43/1.45 era/whip.

    -whitesox -7

james shields does not like fenway park. tb is 0-3 in games he started at boston. last years 2 starts in boston totaled 11er in 4ip. beckett on the flip side had a solid 20ip for 6er in his 3 home starts vs tb. for his career, the redsox are 4-2 in home games he started vs tb.

    -redsox -7.5

-Shields has not pitched well vs Boston in his career going 2-6 with a 4.80 ERA vs them.
-Shields is 0-3 vs Boston with a 10.12 ERA in 3 career starts at Fenway.
-Revenge factor, Rays knocked Boston out of the ALCS

Ck knows baseball man, if you're asking because he's had a few hiccups within the opening days, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Any1 that's read what he's had to say on basketball and football, and even giving ppl a system to use the entire baseball season for free, will know that dude knows baseball, and if you follow, you'll profit in the long run.
