Yes this year has been really tough for the Twins. I don't see next year going much better. I almost feel sorry for them (oh who am I kidding) They have to make some big decisions. Mauer cannot catch anymore, too much of a risk for the team and himself personally. Nerve damage is pretty scary stuff.
