    Last time cole hamels won 3 starts in a row was in May. The phillies won 6 straight starts for hamels (3 wins and 3 no decsions) in may. Oddsmakers have made hamels a favorite in game 5. THis is based on 2 consecutive win by Hamels in the playoffs. Hamels did pitch 8 innings on 10/1 against the brewers and another 7 innings against the dodgers on 10/9. Hamels has also pitched 5 straight quality starts where he has pitched 6 plus innings and allowed 3 or fewer runs in each of those start. The oddsmakers know that Hamels is due for a rough outing and thus have made the phillies favorites in game 5. Pitchers who are red hot are made favorites even when oddsmakers know that pitcher is going to shelled. I was certainly surprised to see the phillies as a favorite in game 5. I thought the dodgers would be a slight favorite with Billingsley pitching. Joe Torre and the dodgers are not going to give up without a fight. This will be the third time in this series the dodgers will be the underdog. I like the dodgers as an underdog especially when I think the dodgers should be a slight favorite.
