i find it extremely rude for anyone to come in when they don't call ahead. i don't even open the door if i don't know who it is.. my buddies know i hate this, and they still do it. well, i let them keep knocking because they are not coming in. and they know i am home too. fuk em.. i find it rude..
and sometimes, your house is a little cluttery. you didn't do your bed, you have some dishes and i don't want people coming in when my living room is upside down..
now anyone knows if they will drop by, they better call, or they will not make it past the door, even if they knock for hrs. in general, i hate guests. especially when i have 11 games going on at same time. i don't want to be bothered.
