Obviously, D'Antoni is going to want some new players. I wouldn't put it past him to try to take Nash with him. Nash has gotten a step slower and would look much better in the East than in the West. Someone like CP makes Nash look old on this side of the Mississippi.
Much depends on the direction the Suns will choose from here. If they decide to go with the Tri Tower offense of Amare, Shaq, and Diaw (not at all certain that Diaw will stay in town), then Nash's passing genius would no longer be that important. And with a slower style his defensive weakness would be more exposed. Plus Nash loves NY city, where he has a house and spends the offseason.
D'Antoni's run and gun style could be highly successful in the East. His Suns always had great success against the East, where teams aren't used to speed. He doesn't want selfish players, so it looks like Marbury is finished in NY. "Q" will be happy to see his old coach back. I wouldn't underestimate D'Antoni. Before you know it, the Big Apple could be in love with basketball again.
