Nadal losing was a huge surprise to me today. The books probably popped open a bottle of champagne when he lost today as he was surely tied to every single parlay out there. I watched the match and clearly Nadal was playing hurt and should have done his backers a favor and retired after he fell down 4-1 in the 2nd set. He was slow to the ball today and his court coverage was lacking, he committed to many unforced errors, and allowed to JCF to get off too many easy shots. Today, it was JCF who was the agressor not RN.

To be fair, JCF is a real good player in his own right--a former world #1 and a grand slam champion--but RN had dominated him in their previous matchups so this comes has a shock for him to lose in straight sets like this. Nadal is typically overvalued on clay, but that happens when you win like 99% of your matches on clay the past 4 years.

Look for Djokovic to win this tournament now that Nadal is out. A dark horse winner might be Wawrinka he's playing very very well right now.
