Yeah, at the time I had no idea how unusual that was. But somehow by writing to their government I not only got paid but got some extra. I guess I should be glad there were no forums then, at least that I was aware of. If I’d asked first about contacting the government, I can imagine the laughs that would have generated. “Government?! Regulation?! In one of those banana republics? Stop it, you’re killing me here!”
It makes me wonder though if there are things like that that people could at least try and would sometimes work, but we don’t bother because it’s just “common knowledge” that it would be futile.
