Not true at all, as far as I'm concerned. First of all, I think you're selling the win at Valencia very short. That is a really difficult place to get a victory. Sheva and Ballack are finally playing well, Joe Cole is back, and it just can't be brushed aside that United amassed most of their lead when the best goalie in the world (IMO and in the opinion of most experts), Petr Cech, was out. His backup, Cudicini, missed a lot of time as well.
I have loads of respect for United, and their performance against Roma was fantastic. But, it must be taken with a grain of salt. Roma were dealing with injuries - not that United was at full strength, but their missing parts were of less importance - and the nature of the game was such that once Man U were up 2-0, things snowballed. Man U have given several poor performances in recent weeks - even some of their wins (Fulham, Boro) were undeserved - and in all honesty, I think their loss to Portsmouth was more typical of this Man U team.
If the season started today, Chelsea would be unquestionably the favorite to win the Prem. As it is, I don't think they will win it (trips to Newcastle, Arsenal, and Everton will derail them, as I see it), but I think they will get all three points when Man U come to Stamford Bridge.
