Thank you very much for the replies.

TLD, I did try to phone the bookie within half an hour of placing the bet, but got a 'not available' answerphone message (they are on the other side of the globe so it was their evening.) They do not have live chat as far as I can see.

As regards the timing, messages are timed and dated in their zone.
I sent mine (quoted above) 02-04-2007 20:30,
the match started 02-04-2007 23:00,
they replied cancelling 03-04-2007 02:07.
I had expected that since the bet had not been cancelled before the start of the match, it would stand, so did not bother checking after that - went and did some gardening...with an ear to the radio of course!

When I later discovered that the bet had been cancelled, I was a bit disappointed but I thought it was nice of them to have cancelled it as it must have been on the tournament.

However, I had mentioned the ambiguity of the bet on a betting forum this morning, and by luck, a person who had bet on the same market told me that this was definitely a match bet and he subsequently confirmed his bet on this market has been settled as a winner.

Bill, I did not write to tell CS that I wanted the bet to stand if the bet was as I thought, as I thought that was clear in what I had written initially.
The bet was not cancelled until the match had started, and I only discovered the cancellation later on as detailed above.

My impression of this book so far is that it is generally decent and I hope they will take into account the points in my favour.
I will see how I get on with it and thank you for your invitation to contact you if necessary.
Your availablity as well as willingness to help is much appreciated.
