Box Office Forecast for 9-29 thru 10-1
I'm still licking my wounds over this weekend. I took a big hit on the Under for Jackass and the Over for All the King's Men. I won a little money on the Over for Fearless & Flyboys. Flyboys beat their number by a mere $4,219.00, the smallest margin of victory I have ever seen. A wise man once said that nobody ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public; which would explain the success of the Jackass movies. I have no strong feelings about this weekends' upcoming releases which may be a good thing. I believe overall box office receipts were down this past weekend and I don't see Americans rushing to the box office this weekend. "Open Season" is an animated movie which features a soundtrack by Paul Westerberg of Replacements' fame (How weird is that?) playing in over 3,600 screens. "School for Scoundrels" is a comedy starring Billy Bob Thornton and Jon Heder opening in over 3,000 screens. "The Guardian" is an action-drama starring Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher opening in over 3,000 screens. Good luck to everyone.
